We have a fantastic new screen which would complement any ground in this league.
But why isn't it capable of counting down the number of minutes that have been added by the fourth official. I just want to know how long there is left as my ar$e is twitching seeing if we can hang on to a scoreline without having to thumble to see my watch every few seconds!!!

probably because the amount of injury time is not fixed by the raising of the 4th officials board.
if there is an incident in injury time, the ref is well within his rights to add longer

I'm pretty sure that Arsenal's counts down the amount of added time

I'm sure I have seen some screens which carry on running after the 90 minutes. But if this is against the rules it would help if the screen also showed a normal clock so we could glance at that as the game clock reached 90 minutes. Somehow I often forget to look at my watch but I reckon I'd remember to look at the screen clock!

Clubs are not allowed to show the injury time elapsed. No one complained about the old scoreboard only going to 45, 90 and 120.

Actually, we did complain about the old score board only going to 45, 90, 120. I have seen plenty of score boards going pasts these times. As someone has already mentioned, Arsenals does it.

First time i actually saw the new screen in action yesterday. I just couldnt see what extra information it gives you during the match over and above the basic clock. Everytime I checked it it just seemed to be showing the percentage of votes for man of the match. So to me it looks as if it will just be used to create a revenue stream from phone calls similar to what they do on 99% of TV programmes these days. Or are the calls free?

Yeah. It says a MINIMUM of 3 minutes for example, but then like yesterday someone could go down injured, so they take up two minutes of that time. The added time clock would then finish and then say the opposition side went and scored in the remaining 2 minutes everyone on here woud say but on the clock it says the game has finished.

It was bloody irritatiing that for most of the second half it was used to try and generate revenue through man of the match votes. It looked desperate and crap.

The annoying thing about the MOTM thing was it when through the whole squad. Who's going to vote for fucking Simmo when he's on the bench?

why dosent it show replays? isnt that the main reason for having a screen? When I was doing my refereeing course, the owner claimed that the FA prefer if the clubs don't show replays. If you're a ref and you see a video of yourself making a terrible mistake for a peno, they'd try and ammend it later. It can also incite the supporters.

Errrr, me for one, Dom! Anyway I thought it could count up but not down, so for example it could just keep going 91, 92 etc because that's not fixed, but if you count down from 93, 92, 91 etc that's set and could influence the ref. Either way I onner bothered.

I posted a topic similar to this after the Man Utd game saying that it did nothing a few people said they saw replays and so i saw nothing, again yesterday i saw nothing only subs and the mana of the match awards,it may do things at half time but i'm refreshing myself then.Blackburns was always doing something showing the goals near misses advertising.
