The best player on the pitch, repeated his performance against ManUre and i honestly believe he should start week in , week out now.
Etherington looked quality for the first half an hour, was only to be expected he'd tire after no football - but he's going to be a huge asset for us, that's plain to see.
Shawcross at his usual brilliant best - and Wilkinson , well done mate -fantastic.
That's all for my player opinions, Stoke were the better team and every single one of them did us proud - Tony Pulis, spot on . We played 10 men behind the ball, yet we still mustered more chances than LIVERPOOL.
We will stay up on home form alone.

Can’t really argue with any of that. Gouranga.

Agreed. Shame FAF doesn't see it like the rest of us. Also thought Whelan did very well today.

Yeah Dom, Whelan had a very slow start, but he didn't half mop up well once the first 15 minutes passed.

Amdy was superb today. Our best player for me. I love football...for me, Whelan was our weakest man.

Cant argue, I thought you were going to be critical when i saw the thread. To think some people said he was wank when we signed him . Another bargain picked up by pulis.

MOM for me today, as I've just voted on the other thread. He is deceptively quick over a 5-10 yards burst and covers an amazing amount of ground. Somebody has to do the dirty work, and he's doing it better than most, at present.

Don't think that, i thought Wilko was immense, he took Babel out when he probably shouldn't have, but other than that - Crunching tackles and solid distrubition.

I have to say he has been a bit hit and miss during the sewason but he had probably his best game for us today and against a 5 man midfield which included Gerrard and Macherano....well done that man. We still though need some creativity in central midfield...not sure Whelan is the answer...decent free kick though

Definetly not MOM. Hto good to be compared with mortals. The man is immense. He's totally unflabble (he makes me flap though) and is an absolute rock in our defence. He also gives Shawcross ths time and confidence to do what he does best. Wilko....Top draw today. The whole defence is better for Faye at it's heart.

Thought Whelan was crap today, for the first 20 minutes I think he thought we were playing in green today. Amdy Faye mopped up well, what does Abdou have to do to get man of the match? He wasn't even one of the three contenders on the screen.

You've forgot to mention the other Faye, He was at his impeccable best AGAIN. I didn't think there's any point in mentioning him, as he is just unbelievably good week in , week out. Everyone knows that he's our rock. I think he's THAT good people expect him to be brilliant every week (which he is) so no point in nominating him, the MOM award is more like "2nd best"

I have to agree. I had a few doubts in his first few games but he has improved massively and was outstanding today. My MOTM. If his passing was better he would really be something.

Agree with the majority on this thread, thought Amdy had an excellent game imo and has proved his worth over the some of the games Ive seen him play. For me he should start ahead of Diao, although TP like to accomodate them both.
Thought Whelan was poor first half, gave some dangerous balls away around the edge of the area, he picked up and had a decent game 2nd half

i wouldn't say we put 10 men behind the ball all the time. of course we defended in numbers but so do a lot of teams, if we had ten behind the ball all the time we wouldn;t have created the chances we did
i think at times we really took the game to them
and yes amdy was immense again.
