He's great! a contender for MOM without a doubt - he's quick and much better than other RBs we have. He just needs abit of experience. Great in this day and age to see a local lad in the team.

his foul on babel was due to lawrence charging about up front losing the shape and leaving him exposed, thought he did ok today,if he had griffs distribution he would be a good player.

The lad played well today, a bit reckless a couple of times but he was mostly on the money today. Well played Wilko, thank fuck TP doesn't listen to the likes of ukyestony!

Babel ran around the outside of him, pushing the ball at the same time, so he had to foul Babel to stop him breaking into the box. I'm afraid it it doesn't say a lot for his pace.

Gets to often out of position when the ball moves fast. He must become more tactical clever.

to be fair on the pace front, babel must be one of if not the quickest player in the league.

he is utter wank
never gets over the half way line, is slow and is very poor on the ball
God Davies must be bad, and we have paid money for him

I think Wilko was unbelievable today, put in a stellar performance.

He's very good in defence, but like Cresswell he's not so good in games where we want our players to push up and turn the screw.
One of my worries about TP is his ability to train players and improve them. He gets them up to almost superhuman fitness with his training regime and he can get players playing at a level they have previously played at after they have lost their way, but players don't seem to improve under his stewardship. It would be great to see both Wilkinson and Dickinson improve their distribution and cut out the rash tackles in their game because they could become very good players.

He likes a tackle though, doesn't he? Smashed through Riera first half, almost pole-axed the poor bastard.
I think he's done EXCEPTIONALLY well in his last two outings considering he's been up against players like Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez, Gerrard, Babel, Riera and Torres. It's a shame he got sent off on Boxing Day but he'll hopefully learn from it and go on from there. He simply had to foul Babel today as he was quickly advancing and would most probably have created a scoring chance for the Scousers.

Good defensively, but his distribution is poor imo. Always seems to give the ball away easily when we don't need too.

I would agree with a lot of work he could be very comfortable at this level. His distribution is poor and sometmes he seems to get caught up in the emotion of the atmosphere and occasion but if you give him a job to do he will do it. I love his attitude and whole heartedness. He tackles like he means it too. Excellent today. Well done wilko lad.

Just needs to cut out the stupid fouls

with some good guidance and coaching can become a really good player. He had a good game today, showed some skill, a little impatience with the yellow card, but a diamond in the rough. Absolutely....He does lack a bit of pace though, so don't expect any England call ups. Other than that, a very good prospect indeed.

he needs learn to pick out the simple ball, hes there to defend and so long as can distribute to some one with an eye for a pass IMO hes doin a good job.

Did any of you doubters actually go to the game today?
The reasons Babel had him for pace in that ONE incident were that Lawrence didn't get back to cut out the original pass, or at least make it difficult, and mascherano had studded Wilko, claiming it was the other way round, about 3 minutes beforehand. Wilko spent the last 10/12 minutes of the game practically limping! To even get back to get a tackle in was outstanding!
MoM in my opinion, although the whole defence was pretty damn good.

he is a good defender but when on the ball he lacks a lot of quality if he had this he would be a top top player. But he shows an awful lot of passion for stoke city and im prou we have him on our side.

contender for MOM in my opinion. Showed his lack of experience at times but that not a crime and i think will be a great player for us if nurtured right.

If he could pass, had a bit more pace and didn't keep diving in and going through players so much he'd be a good player.

I think he is a weak link. Gives 100% yes, but it needs more at this level.
Too many mistakes, not comfortable on the ball, no creation going forward.
Amazed that so many prefer him to Griff.

Some people seem to mistake passion and commitment for talent. Jackie Marsh had all of Wilkos assets and was a better footballer, but was still probably the weakest link in our "late sixties/ early seventies side". I can't comment on Davies, but Wilko has a lot of catching up to do before he can be considered our best right back.

Agree with Coffey.
Wilko's last two league games have seen him up against Ronaldo, Giggs, Riera and Benayoun. Maybe the latter aren't two of the world's best, but they're still quality Premier League players. He may have let himself down with his impetuous challenge on Ronaldo, but overall he's performed superbly against Manchester United and Liverpool.
He was tremendous today.
