Always been quite interested in Stone Circles and what they 'mean'..and what they were used for in the past, anyway, my favourites, in no particular order are;
Nine Ladies Stanton Moor in Derbyshire..9 stubby little stones in the middle of a wood but with a charm all of their own..
Merry Maidens near to Penzance in Cornwall..19 granite stones that form a perfect circle..about 4 feet high
Grange Stone Circle near to Lough Gur in Limerick..Ireland..113 standing stones in an area chock full of ancient artefacts...
Anyone else interested in the subject?

I've visited these - Callanish in the Outer Hebrides. Most impressive too, so I would have to put them in my top three.

Been to a few, Avebury, Stonehenger, Rollright stones, ones near Holyhead, also enjoy places like Silbury hill, and long barrow's and hill forts, just trying to imagine the time and effort what went into what they did and achieved in those times with animal and human muscle power amazes me, I try to work it out in my head how they managed it. I suppose tey didn'y have the oatckae to take their time up
