does anyone else feel that in our relegation battle, perhaps 2/3 loan signings would be much better for our cause? it would be a lot easier to attract a better quality of player on loan than it would trying to tempt decent quality players full time. save the money for the summer this way for a fresh challenge for whatever league we are in. plenty of very good players out there i am sure who could come to us on loan but wouldn't come on a permanent basis.
thoughts?

agreed muzz! i never understood why we didn't take advantage of the facility in the summer! Let's imagine, for example, that Sonko and Oli were season long loans...we'd be laughing when we put them back on the bus in May, wouldn't we?

I`m pretty sure you`re limited to the amount of loans you can have in the Prem. Not sure how many though

i'm quite sure there would be a few quality players on the continent available for loan. the premiership is a good place for them to showcase there talents to either their own club or other clubs.

transfer window is fucking useless. why can;t a team buy a play they need as and when instead of wait and then getting into a bidding war for an average play. plus if a plyer is in top form why can;t he move to another team then instead of him know he going in 3 months time and doing fuck all but not try a get injuried in that time. it don;t help selling club and don;t help buying clubs. another muppets decision by FIFA. probably by a no it all french or swiss fucker

All clubs opposing the window should challenge it... surely as employers they have a right to employ who they like when they like? I don't know of any other industry where you can only move company at 2 specific times a year, it's absolute bollocks.

Let's be honest he won but where did it get him? It takes too much money and too long to get it through the courts and personally i don't think the big clubs would want to change it as it suits them and they somehow get a bigger vote than the rest of us.

It would be interesting to see what would happen if all clubs had a meeting and just agreed to make transfers when they liked. The laws of the game wouldn't be able to cope with the mess and would have to do something....of course it's one thing saying it, another completely having the bollocks to be the first to do it!!

foreign players wanting to play in England who we probably could'nt afford to buy outright maybe a good option, a lot of big name players surely would come to stoke on loan if we could afford the loan fee, as it puts them in the shop window for bigger premiership clubs in the end of season transfer window.
only problem being that if we do survive, its just papering the cracks because the money we spent, by the end of the season we would have no player to show for it.
but if it gets us premiership revenue for next season it could only be a good thing, then sort out permanent deals in the summer

Agreed, although it's going to be harder. As for whether we'd be papering over the cracks or building for the future, tbh at this moment I don't care. Stay up any old how would be such an achievement after the past few weeks that I'd be incredibly happy to do that with loan players, 37 year olds named Larson on weekly contracts, it doesn't matter. Then build for the future in the summer.

that does seem the way, as if we were to spend big money on big players now, say we did'nt survive the drop, all they would do is spit their dummy out in the summer and say they want to move to a premiership club, and as contracts are not worth the paper they are written on these days - our bargaining to hold on for the right price for the player would be non existent equalling in lots of £'s lost for the club.
The buying clubs would be offering very little compared to what we paid in this transfer window, and theres no point in keeping hold of unhappy players.

We know that TP has used the Loan market (on the whole) well over the last 2 seasons, I am sure that if he could improve the 1st team with loans he would. You can be sure that any team in the bottom half of the prem table would not want to loan to a rival. It seems that most teams in Europe want to sell instead of loan unless they are trying to offload massive wages (80k a week plus) which we can't afford. Remember that we spunked over a million quid away on the Amiobi loan last season and that was just in the CCC. If there is a viable loanee out there you can bet your bottom doller we are looking for them.
