We've quite rightly moaned about the dross served up from Tonge, Soares and Big Vince with the biggest complaint being lack of effort. While Dicko/Wilko show loads of effort, they have no composure, no distribution skills, no close contrtol. But because they will come up to the fans and clap us, they seem to escape criticism. I thought these 2 and Davies were useless today. If these 2 are the only products of our academy - God help us.

Wilkinson has the ability to improve with good coaching and will be a decent player I think. He can and will improve on the ball but whether that is with us or not remains to be seen.
Dicko is passionate, is decent defensively, but he is so limited it is laughable and he just hasn't improved since his promising debut v Shef Utd some years ago. One attempted pass to Kitson today was so bad I had to do a double take.
These lads should be getting better, so I wonder what it is they actually do in training.

Wilko only played 10 minutes, its a good point though, however at least we know that wilko and dicko love the club as we do which makes their lack of ability a little more acceptable

My wife loves the club and would happily get paid £4k per week to 'be passionate' and clap at the end. She might even shave her hair off !

We all know they're not going to be the answer long-term, but they're both around the squad this season to provide a bit of back-up.
Unlike some of the wankers we have we on our books (well, one in particular) you could never accuse them of not giving 100%, so as long as they're at Stoke and give it their all, they'll always get my support.
If we do somehow manage to stay up (God knows how), then it'll be best for all parties if they both move-on. As for now though I think we'll have to make do with 'em!

You're dead right. I thought Davies would have been the answer but from what I've seen of him, I prefer Dilkinson. I remember seeing Dicko warming up at Crewe 3 years ago thinking he might be the future, I guess he just hasn't matured.
Of the 3 'Sons' we had, I wish we'd kept Patto - same commitment but a bit more composure.

Seeing Patterson scoring regularly in the championship, while we have to suffer the embarrassment of Pericard half-heartedly shuffling about up front like a yeti with gout, makes me sick in my guts.
Pato was given no encouragement to stay at Stoke by TP, was never given a chance, and would have offered something a lot different to the other strikers that we've got at the club. To think that he was even behind KFC-King Jon Parkin in the pecking order, really does make you question what goes through Pulis' mind.
It's this kind of stupidity and blinkerdness with Pulis that just pisses me off, and the Paterson saga summed him up.

Neither Dilko or Wilko is good enough for premiership football in all honesty. All good fullbacks nowadays are not omnly great defensively but also provide attacking options and good distribution, they players simply don't have that in their locker!

Wilkinson and Dickinson are Championship players at best. Their passion and commitment are to be applauded but if we want to move forward as a club we should be looking to offload them quickly.

Both decent back up players, I wouldn't imagine that they're on (comparatively!) big wages either.

if we end up in the championship then Wilko/Dicko at fullbacks is fine but sadly at premier level they aint good enough. Higgy + Griffin are way infront of both at the moment
