Well, bar Man City being beaten by Forest
When we were promoted it felt like finally all those years of hurt were being erased and at last there was some pride being restored.
Well - that feeling has lasted less than 9 months
Do you eve wonder what is was that we Stokies did in another life to deserve this ?

Chelsea are a million times bigger than us with a full squad of amazing players, playing at home.
West Brom were at home to a team as bad as Hartlepool.
Just my opinion mate.

We have LOST Chelsea and West Brom didnt !! champions league finalists, 2nd richest club in the world, premier league winners couldn't beat southend. we have put out a championship side at best and lost.

I wouldnt say Peterborough are as bad as Hartlepool because they have only recently been beaten after a 15 game unbeaten run and they are 7th in Dividsion 1

It's not so much the "shock" of going out of the cup - it's the fact that the performance was apparently so dire (on listening to the commentary).
A defeat from a lucky goal against the run of play would have seemed less foreboding for the rest of the season.

Agree, offthewall. As we always do badly, what's the shock?
Can someone please update me? A few seasons ago, we were the 2nd worst of the 92 clubs, over the previous twenty years, with only Rochdale worse.
We have never won more than one FA cup game, thus not getting into the 5th round (or 2nd round, when in the third tier) for more than twenty five years, according to my calculation, although I stand to be corrected. It's an appalling record.
