Doing the same thing over and over and over again expecting a different result......
I listened to the game on 5 live and cringed at the amount of times Steve Stone and the other numpty commentating said 'another long aimless ball from (the just insert Stoke palyers name here)
I can envisage this ending VERY messily UNLESS Pulis decides to change tack and actually set the team up to attack in a variety of ways and NOT use this god awful long ball tactic.....
And before anyone starts whining about 'this injury and that injury' the players are PROFESSIONALS and should have the ability and skill levels to adapt to a particular game and situation.
The person who works on said skill levels and tactics is Pulis.
The buck stops with him - full stop end of sentance.
THink about this just for a moment - in your own profession - if you were to ignore the guidelines you are supposed to follow in your own line of work -what would the consequences be...?
Disciplinary action ?, a bollockin off your boss?, warnings?
You follow what the big boss tells you because that is the way you get success.
Those out there in the football have sussed out how to combat our aerial threat now and we actually carry very little else.
Failing to do this will in my opinion and up like the situation Pulis had down at Portsmouth and Gillingham and to a lesser extent Bristol City - i.e. accrimoniously.
Your skating on VERY thin ice Pulis and we can all here the ice CRACKING!
If I was in Coates' shoes I would make the changes necessary to avoid relegation and if it means gettin rid of Pulis - then so be it.
Whichever names I suggest to replace will be berated by people on here so I wont even bother...
Its the club that Pulis is gambling with and the dreams of thousands of Potters fans up and down the country and abroad
You cant tell me his tactics willl change... if they do then great but I seriously doubt it.
I justy wish the bloke would read these pages to see the frustration of SO MANY FANS that go week in week out and can see the deficiencies.
If only a handful of people saw them then fair play but its week after week we hear the same stuff. This cant be co-incidence
Please sort this out Pulis for the FUTURE of our beloved team.
Jim

I so agree with you mate
Further evidence is TP's comments about waiting for things to drop in the transfer market - What, wait until we have been turned down by our first choice signings and then bring in panic buys who arent good enough ?
I love TP for what he has acheived but the fucker is too stubborn for his own good (continuing with the dreadful Periciard for example)
I think that his strengths are also his achilles heal and will be proven as such unless he has a drastic re-think, accepts that he is to blame and trys something different.

I know what you're saying but to be fair if you want to compare it with work environments:
If i was in charge of an office say and i suddenly had 4 or 5 staff unavailable through no fault of my own i'd expect my boss to have a little more understanding and expect performance to dip in the short terms. I certainly wouldn't expect disciplinary action etc etc.

The thing is stokemark, we know it, hundreds on here know and still people defend Pulis saying not to ger rid.
What they are in effect agreeing with are the tactics and formations he deploys week in week out. They are agreeing that this is the way forward for our club when clearly the LARGE majority can see that it isnt
I'm a Sales Director and if I didnt try different tactics and ideas to stimulate the people who work with me to perform better my boss would come down onme like a ton of bricks and would probably get the bullet....

Trumptonpotter- this is a one - off and would cripple most teams having 4 or 5 of its main players out....
What Pulis insists on doing is following the same game plan when these guys ARE available.
It got us up by the skin of our teeth last year but we have been found wanting in SO MANY GAMES thius year.
THe opposition is by far and away of a better quality but we had the opportunity to bring in plaeyrs who would give us extra dimensions and ideas.
What happens - he still sets out the same stall game after game and doesnt play with any width or creativity.
