Great -I know it means nothing and is speculation but - So lets kiss goodbye to the whole of January and find ourselves further adrift, playing Pericard, losing more games and being even less attractive to our 'A' list players and then end up with a desperate scramble for a couple of 'B'listers. When will we learn that this is the Premiership not the Championship

What a load of utter bollocks. How long does he think he can churn out the same old rubbish and have people fall for it? The events of the summer should of put paid to this kind of tactic and buried the "won't buy unless they are better that what we have got" rhetoric once and for all.
It's all well and good saying we won't pay over the top for average players, but because we capitulate until the shops are closing, we are left with the last scrapings of the bargain barrell.

we've already paid over the top for average players - it gets to the stage where nothing's left and he panics.
His posturing stubborness is going to get us relegated

in all fairness what should he have said? i.e sure we'll pay what ever you want? ensuring that selling clubs and agents rack the price up even more

There's lots of other stuff he could say, even down to saying he won't comment on what we are planning.
