Vincent Pericard – He is LegendEver seen the film I am legend with Will Smith? He is the last man on the planet in New York, and he is surviving by staying away and hiding from Zombies. Whats that got to do with Vincent Pericard? Vincent Pericard is the last striker at Stoke (Cresswell is now a confirmed winger) and he is surviving by avoiding getting injured which means dodging the ball at every possible chance, thus making sure we have a brilliant player up front for us for the rest of the season, and perhaps eternity. Is he a legend though? Yes, yes he is. His credentials speak for themselves, you don’t just play for Juventus a handful of times before having a highly successful season netting just under double figures in the championship if you don’t ooze quality. Unfairly, Vincent has been given a rough time from the Stoke fans, from the media, from my everyone with a pair of eyes and a mouth which can talk. I just want to write a few things in his defense. First and foremost, he is young. Young-ish anyway. He is only 26, still a developing young man. And he isn’t lazy, he is laid back. It’s from his Cameroonian roots, keeping him all calm and shit. Lets not forget this brave young man, has been in prison for nothing other then speeding ridiculously fast and then lying about it. Why did he lie?? Because he loves Stoke, in a non-gay way. He didn’t want to miss a game for us, so he tried to stitch up his old man with the speeding allegations. He is also a prolific goal scorer, scoring a whopping 19 goals throughout his whole career! 19!! In just 10 years! By the time he is 36 he will have scored 38 goals! Fucking incredible! We are so lucky to have him as our only attacking option right now. Also, he wears the proud number 15. Other greats to where the number 15 for Stoke in the past include Martin Carruthers and Keith Scott who combined scored a total of 16 goals for Stoke City, 3 less then Pericards career total. You can add in Paul Stewart to that also who got 3 goals for us. There you go, Pericard = Carruthers + Scott + Steward. Add on that Keith Downing, who was shit and all he did was get booked vs the baggies when we beat 4 – 1. What I’m trying to say is Pericard is more than just a man, he is a legend. And funnily enough he looks like he has come off the film I am legend. As one of the zombies.
