"There is no chance of us paying over the odds for players"
Thank God for that.
After £3m for Olofinjana, £5.5m on Kitson, and £4m+ on 2 wide players who he rates lower than Dicky Cresswell and Danny Pugh, that's put my mind at ease...

Hardly surprising, I fully expect nothing to happen until the very last day, for myriad of reasons, one being players wanting to hold out for the best deal, secondly we ALWAYS take a absolute age to sign players. I had hoped that we might have had at least one deal done before the window opened

What do you expect? We have a non existent scouting network, coupled with a buffoon CE and a DOF who does the square root of fuck all.
Last minute deadline day deals resulting in £5million worth of benchwarmers. We need players in before the next Premier League match.

surprise surprise , lets just stand by and let other people target our targets!! We must know who we do and dont want so what is the problem!!! All i can think is that other teams want to buy their replacement players before they sell to us!! .... why cant we just be like that for a change? why are we always the team waiting we always play the waiting game! it takes the Fcking piss!!! 4 weeks of wondering again, this transfer window is to long

Pulis comes from a generation / school of managers that regards it their duty to lie, deny and misinform at every stage, for some reason they seem to think it makes them look shrewd or clever

Annoying - Not even a rumour today about new signings.......... Surely the rest of the season is much, much more important than the hartlepool game !? ???
We need signings more than anyone in this league ...

Complete lack of organisation, we are thread bare with quality in the first 11 - you would at least think that they had been counting down the hours to the transfer window opening when EVERYBODY knows without Fuller & Mama we have a league 1 strike force.. what a joke and i cvan see it being the same as last time now, we'll wait to get the best deals at the end of the window and if our targets are sold we will again panic buy championship players FFS Stoke for once please just get in and out of the window ASAP! These 'best deals' won't be the 'best deals' if we are 3 points short at the end of the season because we played the waiting game.

Trouble is, if we want say, Harewood, Villa won't let him go until they have gaurantees of getting say, Bellamy. If we want Camara, Wigan will want to make sure they HAVE somone coming in for definate. Like another prem manager said the other day, it's the domino effect of waiting 'till the first club get's their man before they release theirs to us, and they we release say Pugh to Cardiff for example.
Annoying i know, but until everyone else starts making sigings left right and centre, everyone just has to wait and see.

Here we go again Instead of having made all the arrangements ready we seem to start on scratch. Again. As if the opening of the transfer window came as a total surprise to TP. So it's down to the usual procedure: - We know that the team needs strenghtening - We will not pay 'over the odds' for players - There will be no signings until the transfer window is about to close - We will then sign a couple of defenders and mayhap a striker/midfielder - They will be injured/have just recovered from a long-term injury and might play in February - They are all 6 ft or taller - One or two players might leave - We will have plenty of 'catching-up' to do - Other teams will sign players, who will be considered 'Crap' or 'Useless' by the majority of this messageboard, while the players in the long run will turn out to be good addidtions to the other teams.

With us languishing in the luxury of the bottom three, and with some tough fixtures over the next four weeks, I can understand why there is no rush to sign players. Yeah ..... Yeah ..... We've got all the time in the world

any signing wouldnt be reg' in time for Hartlepool anyway
given the striker crisis a loan striker as a minimum is essential in time for Liverpool

nothing suprises me with this joke run club! we should be one of the first teams signing players up with our current form. but no thats not the way stoke work. we will wait no doubt until their are a couple of days to go then pick up the shit every one as left on the shelf! as always!!!

It's been obvious to anyone except maybe Mr Pulis what we needed for ages. At least one deal should have already been "in the bag" and ready to be signed off as soon as the window opened.
It's only day one, so maybe it has, but history indicates we will cock it up.
having said that the club spent the whole summer lying about when signings would come in, so if they are saying that nothing is imminent, I expect players to be paraded in front of John Smiths before the end of the week.
