Stoke What they need: Tony Pulis could do with more cover for full-backs Danny Griffin and Rory Delap, while he would like another striker to boost their survival hopes. Targets: Dave Nugent (Portsmouth) £2million, David Healy (Sunderland) £1million. Outgoings: Ricardo Fuller Spending power: Sell to buy When you see the comical Stoke 'analysis' in the Mirror transfer window guide, I think we can kiss goodbye to any insight in this particular space-filling pile of crap. How on earth has that been printed? Without looking at the obvious mistakes, I think Healy and Nugent are the last people Tone would go in for and don't think there is a chance in hell of Ric leaving.

spending power sell to buy? what a load of cock
Healy and Nugent? yeah maybe last season. I'll give the Mirror a miss for any Stoke stories, what next Stoke consider new ground option?

In terms of accurate rumours, The Daily Record are the best with a 33% success rate. The next best newspaper is the Grauniad.

just seen the ricki interview for sky at the training ground .have to be honest after watching that i now have doubts about his future with us . seem to make quite a point about what happens next being upto the club . also " i'm hoping its going for a better new year for me " no mention of for stoke " i'm a stoke city player for now " hopefully i'm adding 2 and 2 and coming up with 5 . only time will tell . I watched this interview numerous times yes'day and it baffled me to. Cant make my mind up on it but he looked pissed off and his body language wasnt good and if Coates had stated that he has a future at Stoke then why would Fuller say its up 2 the club about his future. And I dont think the spat with Griff is forgotten as he mentioned that he was rude and disrespectful to him so this is probably still grating on him. I really do hope he stays but wouldnt be surprised to see him go.

I really do hope he stays but wouldnt be surprised to see him go. its all about timing, the interview occured as Fuller was turning up to training, he looked hurried, unsure and you can understand it as it was before he had the "chat" with Pulis, the clun and the team, he was obviously unprepared nor certain of what the reaction was going to be when he turned up. Not rabbitt in the headlights but definitely uncomfortable as anyone would be, he could have been sacked or hung drawn and quartered when he arrived. For me he was uncertain, if the interview had happened after all chats had taken place the result would have been different

Pointless thread on the back of non-existent information based around the apparent rumours linking Fuller to Everton that more than likely originated on here a couple of weeks ago.

setanta.com/us/Articles/Football/2009/2/2/Prem-Moyes-rules-out-Arteta-sell/gnid-33699/David Moyes has categorically ruled out the sale of Mikel Arteta to Arsenal, insisting no player will be leaving Everton in the January window. Arteta’s face was splashed across several of Wednesday’s papers, with £12 million the reported fee that Arsenal were ready to pay for his services. Moyes laughed that off by pointing out that Thursday’s papers reported Arsenal had no money to spend in January. The Scot then declared no player would be leaving Goodison, although one or two might arrive on loan. “I have no intentions of selling anybody. Definitely not. Why not? Because there’s nobody I’d like to sell,” said Moyes. “We read today that Arsenal don’t have any money to spend in January. So it depends on what you read, and who things are written by. “We’re not intending to sell, we’re not intending to buy, we will look for a loan or two. “We’ll make at least one more signing if possible, but that would be subject to a loan signing because we don’t have the necessary funds to make any transfers.” Meanwhile, Wenger himself has confirmed he has made no approach for Arteta. "Mikel Arteta is a very good player but we have not made any enquiry about him at all," Wenger told Arsenal's official website.

I first heard this rumour a few weeks ago before the Man Utd game. Everton are meant to be going to bid 3 million for him.
