gerat days, but oh crikey, I can recall hundreds of games where the place was dead.
But it was OUR place. Our urine-smelling, decaying-terracing, moss-rideen roofed, church where we prayed every single fortninght.
Fopr night matches you could actually SMELL that there was a football match going on there.
Now? Let's just say that if we drway on Saturday then it will be an actual chore to drag myself up to that soulless dump on the hill for the replay. It shouldn't be like that - but football shouldn't be like that.
The big difference between the grounds apart from smell and the logistics of getting there and havinga beer before?
Take this season and all the plaudits we've had for noise. Then think of what games like Villa, Spurs, Baggies and Man U would have been like when stood up on the Boothen End.
Shame.

Was impossible to revamp the Vic so we had little choice.
Was some great days/nights there but it's easy to forget standing in crowds of 6000 with no atmosphere etc. Was outdated beyond belief so we had little choice. The atmosphere at the Brit has been magnificent when I've been this season.

Been on the Boothen when you struggled to breathe, also been on there and played with a golf ball, bouncing it back and to with a mate who now sits next to me at the Brit. It was a great place to be when we were winning or on a cup run but it could be like a doctors waiting room if/when we were in the shit, It was still a great ground and will miss it.

Fuck me if she sees this you'll be wearing your tessers round yer neck bunny ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D You cant beat footy grounds that sit in the middle of houses. a real sense of community and The Vic for many of us will be a sad loss. Mind you if you look at Anfield all the houses round there seem to be boarded up.
