Went down the Brit yesterday morning at 9.15am to purchase a ticket for Hartlepool. Arrived there to notice the ticket office was shut. Thats odd I thought, I swear it opens at 9am during the week? Anyway, I went into the clubshop and spoke to a young girl who I presumed was the manager as she was dressed in a smart suit. I asked her what time the ticket office opened and she replied "errrrrr, hold on, it might be shut today. I'll just go and check at reception". Im thinking to myself surely the ticket office cant be shut on a monday morning?? The girl came back and confirmed that the ticket office was shut. When I asked her why she really didn't have a clue. Ok I said, well I only want a ticket for Hartlepool cant you just sell me one here in the shop. No she replied, we cant do that. She then told me that if I went to the Stoke shop in the potteries centre I could purchase a ticket there. I was sure she was wrong as the hanley shop doesnt sell tickets for away matches. Anyway, ive been up hanley today to have a browse round the sales and I thought id pop into the potteries centre stoke shop just to double check. Sure enough as predicted they dont sell away tickets there and never have done. I told the woman in the shop that the manager of the shop at the brit had told me they did sell tickets and that they need to start singing off the same hymne sheet. She replied that the woman at the Shop at the brit was new and didnt know what she was talking about!! What an absolute shambles!!! I am now tempted to tell them to stick their ticket up their arse and not go. They do not deserve my money or support!
Nice one Stoke!!

If you'd have checked it was open before you left you wouldn't have had to talk to the new girl.

Well I phoned the ticket office this afternoon and they sold me a Chelsea ticket. And they answered the phone without any wait at all, for the first time this season.

Akinbadbuy: It wasn't like the ticket office decided to shut, it had been advertised. Also, the 'young woman' in the club shop, might have thought Hartlepool was a home match.

First of all it was a monday morning not a Sunday so it should have been open. Second, maybe your right, I should have checked the opening times knowing what a shambles the PR at stoke is. I just assumed it would be open considering it was a normal working day. Just like if you went up to Hanley on a monday morning you would know all the shops would be open as its a monday. You wouldn't go on the HMV website to check would you. Regardless of whether is advertised or not, why is the ticket office shut on a Monday? How many other top flight clubs do you think operate in this way? Not many i'll tell you.
Finally, if the girl in the shop (who looked manager material) thought Hartlepool was a home game then why the hell is she working for the club in the first place if she has got no interest in SCFC? That'd be like me working in a Barbers shop and not knowing how to cut hair!!
If you think that level of service is acceptable then you must live on another planet. See you at Hartlepool mate!!

I am not saying that the incident demonstrated acceptable service, however I have heard worse ticket office stories than yours. Hope you got your ticket for 'pool in the end, it's going to be a long day!

Yeah ive heard of and been involved in worse ticket office scenarios myself, Ala 7 hours queuing for Bolton tickets on the opening day of the season. My point is that the whole ticket office / clubshop is a shambles. Still dont know his name but the old guy with glasses who works at the ticket office has got the worst attitude problem ive ever come across. Instead of trying to help out Stoke fans he does his best to make it as difficult as possible to buy a ticket. Always reminds me of going to get Blackburn tickets a few weeks ago. Me and my mate went down and said "5 tickets for Blackburn please" his reply was "NO". I had to bite my lip at this point or id have found myself banned from all Stoke games for giving him a piece of my mind. The clubshop is a joke too. Always running out of kit unless your size is small or XXXXXXXL. The staff are rude and cant be arsed to help you at all. How about employing people who actually support SCFC and then maybe they'd be glad to serve you. Just a thought like........

I agree, it's like Old Mother Hubbard's cupboard at the stoke shop at the minute. i was after a training suit to go running in like, no size small at the ground or the swanky new potteries centre shop..or even online.. No hoodies, nothing really..just slippers in a size 3 and boy's items..gutted, back down the A34 for me.
