Please can people stop using the word "immense" to describe our players' performances? It's really annoying.

It's the adjective inflation that is endemic in football. That's why new signings refer to us as a 'massive club'

When I use immense, as re Ryan, it's in a relative context. He seemed seven foot tall, at WHU, compared to many. Now to use tragedy, for anything but a death/lifelong injury, in the game, that is OTT.
My favourite hate is little, as in a good little club, (Hull City, with 24,000 attendances) a great little pass (usually thirty yards) and a super little player (over 6 foot tall)

Immense as in they are probably playing above there level of ability and competing on a level playing field against better players.
Griff was decent last year, but this year he has upped his game and has been immense (most of the time)

As annoying as this years Stoke catchphrase: Lets make the Brit a fortress or last years: if we'd have been at position xx in the table at the start of the season, I'd have taken that ?

.......what about "of" being the new "have"...... would of, should of, could of...???? WTF?? There is nothing more annoying to me in the world than that. Why can't some people write properly? Also, when people use 'your' instead of 'you're' is nearly as annoying.

Immense as in they are probably playing above there level of ability and competing on a level playing field against better players. Griff was decent last year, but this year he has upped his game and has been immense (most of the time) Griffin was abysmal last year and his injury was a huge blessing. He's been good at home this season, very indifferent away. You must have very low standards for our Andrew.
