It may just be Abdoulaye faye Abdoulaye showed how good of a leader he was against man utd and most of the other teams he really as the attitude of a real captain unlike griffin. Griffin today walked over to fuller must of known sumtin was gonna happen. and as soon as A.D.Faye seen the incident he was shoutin at the bench and screamed at shawcross to hold griffin away from fuller.
Dont think that if that happend again that griffin would do that. abdoulaye faye also shows strength and courage throughout the whole 90 minz.
Hopefully A.D. Faye does become captain ;D

I completely agree, I've thought he or Higgy should be captain for some while now, but thought it wouldn't do the dressing-room much good to take it off Griff.

faye is not only our best player but an organiser, (some thing we need) and has shown he isnt going to act like a cunt. especialy after rooney elbowed him, me personally probably would have twated him later in the match

Griffin was as much to blame as Fuller in my opinion. The man of experience, the one with the captain qualities, the "smashing lad" in the changing room, felt it necessary to walk a fair distance to confront his own player. And his attitude as Fuller was walking off was awful.
Furthermore, Griffin shouldn't be on a Premier League pitch anyway. I remember how we all laughed when he was playing for Derby in the Prem, are we laughing now? I think not.
Despite his attitude when Sunderland came sniffing, i think Higgy should be reinstated as captain. Abdoulaye is a good defender, but not captain material in my opinion.

Interesting that they put Higgy up for the 5 Live interview to calm things down. Is that a hint maybe? But I agree, Ab Faye's the natural leader and has done everything to earn the armband.

After seeing Griffin's reaction to the red card, he cannot captain our club again. It must be Abdy Faye.

Higgy for me - he's immense, and I've forgiven his treachery ;D
Faye is a Sergei type - leader in actions but not great verbally i think. Let him carry on being a great centre half and give it to the Higmeister

Whilst Abdoulaye has had the arm band he has 'got in there' sharpish on several occasions.
Fuller was about to blow in the Fulham game, when Faye went straight across the pitch, calmed him down and possibly saved him from being sent off.
If he'd been captain today, then I don't think there is any reason to believe, that he wouldn't have picked up on Ric mouthing off to Griff straight away, gone over to him straight away and told him to "shut the fuck up".
That would have been the end of it and none of us would even have known that anything had happened.
Sigh ...

Yes. I cannot for one minute imagine Abdy Faye confronting someone hurling abuse at him.

He should have been captain before today, however what happened today has hopefully secured the armband for him. I was sat behind the dugouts today and witnessed Faye come over scream to TP to get Griff off (Davies entered the pitch a couple of minutes later), that is leading by example, not waving one of your own team off the pitch.

I saw that on TV. He was seething about something. Did you get the impression that was because he could see Griffin was becoming a liability because of his calf strain,or because he didn't like his part in the Fuller red card?

Even if Abdy wasn't captain, Delap should have been. He guided us to promotion he in my opinion deserved to keep the captaincy as he looked a good captain. Griff has never looked like captain material and doesn't command the respect that a captain should.

Didn't Faye twice run the best part of twenty yards to gob off at the linesman today and get a booking for dissent on the second occasion? Surely a sign of petulance? (Although I wouldn't say it to his face )

Yea, cracking choice.

Not sure why he was doing it, possibly because of the calf strain, possibly because he waved Fuller off the pitch, possibly because his mind was not on the game or possibly because of the goal? Whatever the reason he ran right towards TP and screamed something at him, the Davies sub then followed. A sad day.

definately, something about him that booms confidence and something that makes me (and i presume the players) respect him.. him and sorro are the back bone of our entire team atm and he should have been captain today after his fantastic game against the Shit.

Have people forgotten that after the Rooney incident it took 2 of our own players to stop him retaliating and a good 20 seconds to calm him down? Barring that incident I thought he was great as captain but if that had happened somewhere else on the pitch he could easily have seen red.
I'd instinctively have given it to Delap but given his obvious injury problems he's not a good choice at a time when we need stability. Sorensen would therefore be my choice. He does captain his country after all...

???
Griffin did NOT walk over to Fuller, Fuller walked over to him oh & then hit him
Fuller has had loads of on pitch rows with team mates before (Eustace every game!Whelan v Utd e.tc) cant say I've ever seen Griff rowing before.
Is Faye a better captain, well yes on the pitch at least it would seem so. cant say it would make any difference re Fuller though.
