That is was I believe Tony has done once again today, and is by far the best manager in this respect. No one could have asked anymore from these players, and today above any other, showed that we can compete with the best in the business. Wilkinsons sending off should not be dwelled upon and we should not castigate him, or any of the players today for what was a magnificent display by one and all. The only point that I would like to add is that we can and will get better from this narrow defeat.Today was a positive , not a negative, and a game we should take pride from. If we can just coast through the next two or three games , then I'm sure that Tony will not be slow at coming forward in the Transfer window in January. We also have Liam Lawrence coming back into contention, which is also a massive boost for us, and if we can perform like we did today then there is no chance of us being relegated. The team spirit which Tony Pulis has engendered is probably the best in the Premier League and we need to focus and use this ethos in the remaining fixtures. I suppose it all now rests on the new targets that Tone has lined up in the New Year....!

Well said mate, fingers crossed that January is as fruitful as we need it to be.

I cannot EVER see Tony Pulis ripping into his players like Tango mans equity card performance.!
I can see us finishing above Hull.

Tone did a good job yes. In fact it's reasonable to say that if our players had been so focussed at Blackburn we wouldn't have disgraced ourselves. Now the emphasis is on keeping the players motivated and focussed for Sunday.....when it isn't a full house home game with 500m people watching.
At this stage I can't see us finishing above Hull but their wheels have started to come off it seems.

i agree joe. Today made me incredibly proud of the boys, and it was a tremendous performance, but in the long run it is no use unless we build upon it, by beating West Ham.
If we carry on playing like that we will easily stay up. question is whether we will or not!

Brave defeats are all very admirable and that but they won't keep us up. Wins will keep us up.

Ironically, the panel were saying on Match Of The Day how well Wilkinson played against Ronaldo ,Tevez Giggs and the like... Shearer thought that we could have won it up to that point...!

The red card signalled the end of any chance we had of winning it and a grim attempt cling on to the draw.

You never stop learning pal, no matter how old you are. I thought he had a fantastic game...apart from the sending off.

Mumf, i don't think Pulis needed to do anything to get the players up for this match.

Agree with you there Mumf, it's a pity he didn't play that line up last week which was a better chance of taking points in a relegation "6 pointer" What is your obsession with Helsby Tesco were you trying to spot Cisse again
