Floundering, without any direction, the crew have jumped ship, the cargo is lost, others stood by and watched whilst it sank. Ice Prince or Newcastle? A bigger storm ahead perhaps.

TP's Stoke City are indeed the footballing equivalent of an Iceberg to NUFC's Titanic.
Captain E Smith would be so proud!

I agree we can be the ice berg to their floundering ship, though I think in a strange way the sacking of Allardyce will mean their supporters will give them a little slack should they not be all over us from the beginning.. I think had fat Sam still been in charge it wouldn’t have taken long for the home fans to vent their frustrations if things were going wrong.
Though of course we really must take the game to them, the players must be at such a low right now an early goal and we could do to them what Brum did last year, they are going to be nervous, we have to everything to gain and they have everything to lose.
If we lose, well it was an adventure we added a little good publicity to our cv and we can get back to the league where a win on Saturday is essential. If however we win, then we have a nice trip to the Emirates and a little more good publicity. Though ultimately the cup is a very nice sideshow but will mean nothing if we don’t begin to get back on the winning trail soon.

Plenty of Geordies will be firious about their submission on Saturday. If we test their patience sparks will fly.

We'll never get a better chance to do some Giant Killing IMHO. No manager, players lost to ANC, suspension, her majesty's big house etc, all the talk about Shearer, Keegan, Houllier, we're playing well, Newcastle aren't. Hang on ...... this is Stoke innit!! Got a 4-0 home win written all over it!!! NOT ;D Come on you Rip Roaring Potters

Hang on ...... this is Stoke innit!! Got a 4-0 home win written all over it!!! Fuck it!! It went and happened again. To be honest, I couldn't really care less. Yes I wish it hadn't been so emphatic, and yes I wish they weren't doen to 10 men. But we were never going to win the FA Cup were we. With our small squad I firmly believe it's better that we're out. We can now concentrate on the league and know that we're not going to lose people due to injuries, suspensions that are incurred during the FA Cup. We now need to spend the rest of Jan addressing the weak areas. Cresswell is not a winger... full stop. Either play Pugh there are preferably bring in a recognised left winger. I like John Eustace, but he's not good enough now I'm afraid. And Rory Delap has not set the world on fire either. If Diao is fit, he must play, and we need to bring in a creative central midfielder to play alongside him. I have given John Porkin the benefit of the doubt, but not anymore. This bloke is stealing a living as a professional footballer and should not be within sniffing distance of a 1st team place. This is a watershed moment for us. This season could go either way from now on. We need to fill in the gaps to ensure it doesn't fizzle out.
