Andy Porter guided Vale's youth side to great success, both on the pitch and developing youngsters through to the club's first-team working alongside youth development officer Bill Chetwyn. The highlight was leading them to the FA Youth Cup quarter-finals last season, defeating Bolton and Tottenham on the way. Meanwhile, Porter has helped a batch of young players graduate to Vale's first-team squad in the last 12 months. They include Danny Glover, Simon Richman, Ross Davidson, Chris Martin and James Lawrie. www.thisisstaffordshire.co.uk/sport/Latest-Port-Vale-youth-coach-Andy-Porter-quits/article-570525-detail/article.html

It's one thing finding youngsters for the league that Vale's first team in and a totally different (higher)standard required for Stoke's. Also, I can remember the way Porter reacted when he scored against us in that cup replay back in the early 1990's. Please no.
