It was a mistake taking manchester utd half way around the world just to satisfy the sponsors and merchandise departments, it was NOT a mistake to give the players time off with their family, they trained on Wednesday and will do a thorough warm up tomorrow so theres no problem...

Pulis knows his players better than any of us do.
I think each manager to their own - I doubt Utd have suddenly gained a massive edge over us for tomorrow by training today anyway!!

At first glance Dve it does seem a bit extravagant I know, but TP does put enormous importance on the "team spirit". I think by keeping the players together from a very early point, he's helping to start that pre-match bond as soon as possible before the big day. It may actually work better than having them in training then letting 'em go home afterwards.

I cant see them forgetting how to play football I'm assuming that you haven't been to many recent games. They forgot how to play football weeks ago.

I could have sworn they had a brilliant come-back against Newcastle a couple of weeks ago? Fack me, some people don't half talk some shite. Oh yeah, but I forget we lost the last game therefore all the players are shite and can't play football, what chance have we got with 'supporters' like this?

Funny that, as i'm sure on Stoke world when interviewed TP said they were having a light training session, then he was bombing down to spend a little time with his family before returning back to stoke.

Bumper home crowd, to all at the britt please sing your hearts out

Why are people going on about jetlag? They were in Japan for 9 days barely long enough for their sleep patterns to alter - also I am pretty damn sure they would have a flown 1st Class there and back so would easily have slept through the time change.
They've already been back in the UK for 4 or 5 days any possible sleep pattern change or 'jetlag' will well of gone now.
The reason I'd imagine old red nose would of had a training session yesterday was because he'd given them several days off to catch up on sleep.
Whatever jetlag they had will be well clear be now.
edit: Also I am pretty sure TPs ritual is the same every year for Christmas day - light training session in the morning and everyone home for the afternoon.

because it ensures players can prepare for games with as few distractions as possible. Especially at this time of year.

have you seen us perform on boxing day lately last season we were moaning that taking them in on Xmas day had contributed to the poor performance on boxing day owing to the players being pissed off with not being treated like adults on Xmas day.
