Was hoping he got the job in a way.
Not bothered if Crewe disappeared out of the league or folded, used to have a lot of time for them before their fans got above themselves a few seasons back.
So difficult one, hope he does ok, shame it wasn't another club.
Good luck Gudjon.

I can see him fitting in well there, good footballing kind of guy. I liked Gudjon a lot, but a man dedicated to the "footballing principles" that Crewe loftily claim to adhere to he wasn't.

Will he be as well backed at Crewe as he was with us? He didn't do a huge amount at Barnsley or Notts County and if Crewe are expecting someone who'll play a ground-based, Dario-style passing game then Gudjon isn't their man. Good luck to him though.

I always thought that when Dario eventually took a back seat at Crewe they'd manage to sign an up and coming young coach with potential. Obviously Holland turned out not to be that man but even now I thought the track record they have of producing talented young players would prove attractive to a good up and coming coach. I can't help feeling that there is someone out there who has missed an opportunity of learning his trade at a club which has managed to punch above its weight for much of the past 30 years.

Trust he will fuck Baker off. He's the reason Crewe are where they are. How the former Stokey thug has made a career in professional football is beyond comprehension.

I knew he was a Stokie but thug ??? ??? Anyhow, this is great news for Gudjon. Im pleased for him. Always put his heart and soul in to Stoke on Trent. Crewe need a shake up. And Deano, what the fuck are you on about ??? ???

what you mean what the fuck am i on about? ive got an opinion just as you have you prick One that I don't agree with. He did a good job at Stoke I liked his style, he played the 4-3-3 system very well and was passionate about the club. Thats got to be worth something.

falkez, thats your opinion mate, you wont find me slating you or asking what the fuck are you on about, like some people do. its a message board where people are going have opinions. personally i was never a big fan of his, i didnt like his players he signed and i didnt like his style of play, but he got us out that torrid division.

Gudjon did a good job overall but let's not pretend we played good football. He could be nightmarishly stubborn and getting him to abandon his 5-3-2 formation at home took forever, in spite of the fact that it patently wasn't working. He was often just as cautious as the current manager and also had a penchant for unfathomable rocket science tactics (O'Connor at RB, Dadason on his own up front and Thorne on the bench for that Walsall play off game for example).

you like to think that! were you at blackburn saturday? cus outside the pub their were hundreds singing it. or did you choose not hear it? the same as its sang in the concourse of the brit! and before you say its not right then i actually agree, it is a sickening song, but i find it no more sickening than singing argentina! I wouldn't say hundreds! 30/40 tops I'd say and cunts the lot of em!

Personally I don't have a problem with your opinion after all it would be a bit boring if we all agreed on the same issues. I liked him, yes it wasn't pretty stuff early on in his reign but he did get the job done. I wish him all the best. Merry Xmas and all

Good luck to Mr G. At the very least, he looked like he had a real passion and liking for Stoke when he was here and I wish him well. Still got a photo of him celebrating the play off semi-win at Cardiff, somewhere on the pc. Priceless
