Here is a list of our outfield players who are in with a chance of a place in the squad, along with the positions that they consider to be their best:
2 Andy Griffin: left/right back 3 Danny Higginbotham: CENTRAL defender 4 Seyi Olofinjana: CENTRAL midfielder 5 Leon Cort: CENTRAL defender 6 Glenn Whelan: CENTRAL midfielder 7 Liam Lawrence: CENTRAL midfielder 8 Tom Soares: CENTRAL midfielder 9 Richard Cresswell: CENTRE forward 10 Ricardo Fuller: CENTRE forward 11 Mamady Sidibe: CENTRE forward 12 Dave Kitson: CENTRE forward 14 Danny Pugh: utility player, but has played best as a CENTRAL midfielder 15 Vincent PĂ©ricard: (would never have included him in this list until today) CENTRE forward 17 Ryan Shawcross: CENTRAL defender 18 Salif Diao: CENTRAL midfielder 19 Amdy Faye: CENTRAL midfielder 21 Andrew Davies: CENTRAL defender 23 Michael Tonge: CENTRAL midfielder 24 Rory Delap: CENTRAL midfielder 25 Abdoulaye Diagne-Faye: CENTRAL defender 28 Andy Wilkinson: right back 31 Carl Dickinson: left back 33 Ibrahima Sonko: CENTRAL defender
That makes three out of 23 players who consider their best position to have the word "left" or "right" in it. Of those three, all are full-backs, and two of them are nowhere near being regular starters.
Once again, that's three. Out of 23.
Anyone think we need a bit of width in January? Does TP?

As I commented on a previous post, are we the only team in all four divisions without a specialist wide (winger) in their squad.

We'd be fine if they'd just let us narrow the pitch a little bit more.
