Tony stated on the BBC preview for tomorrows game that he's looking for three away wins this season.
Now I'm a realist, but isn't three aiming a little low?

The way we've been playing away from home, I think one is aiming a little high.
Mind you, we have got a trip to the Hawthorns to come.

3 Away Wins, 3 Home Wins = 18 points,
20 Points + 18 Points = 38 points.
Add a couple of draws and that will do nicley. ;D

40 points wont be enough.
You know, I'm in quite a predicament. When drunk I made a promise that if Stoke stayed up I'd go into a lecture in just my undies ...

We really need to break our away hoodoo before it becomes a hoodoo.
At the minute I can't see an away win on the cards so I think three is about right.
We do need about 46-48 points I think to be safe this season.

Sounds like he'll be happy to scrape three 1-0 wins. Such low expectations are very worrying.

Why are so many people saying 40 points won't be enough? With it being tight at the bottom, points are going to be spread around more, so it could be seven clubs sharing 250 points, averaging 37/38 each rather than four or five each averaging 40.

He probably means the equivalent of 3 wins, 9pts, to add to around 10 or so, 30+ and about half our games, at home. I'm sure he'd be quite happy if we got them in draws........the away points Surely 30pts at home and 9-10 away is a good starting point, with anything more a bonus.
That's what I've always seen as achievable and our best chance of staying up.
