I did think it could be us
but I think Sunderland,
But West Ham, Bolton and I thing Wigan will also be sucked in.
Man City aren't safe either... I mean they could buy a shed loads of players but will they 'bond'

Ok then....Who are the likely candidates...?
We do have the worst goal difference outside the bottom two...?

still to early to condemn Blackburn or west brom, If i remember rightly didn't west brom once do the undoable, stave off relegation when being bottom at xmas ??? was it under Megson or Robson ? If some of these 1-0 0-0's we've been getting start turning into losses then I fear the worst we might regret not being more adventurous away from home come may.

Long long way to go yet. Nothings assured in December. If Stoke take out eye off the ball for a second it could all fall apart quickly.

West Brom were the ONLY team to be bottom at xmas and survive
Theres the "no team with 20 points at xmas have been relegated"
There's 7 teams not to reach that at the moment
Newcastle 17 19 Tottenham 17 19 West Ham Utd 17 19 Man City 17 18 Sunderland 17 18 Blackburn 17 13 WBA 17 12
West Brom and Blackburn can't
It's spurs castle next week. So unless that is a draw, thats another one.
sunderland have got Hull, City have got West Brom, West ham have got Villa,I recon city will get the magic 20points...Don't think sunderland or West ham will
So there will be WBA, Blackburn, Sunderland, West Ham and maybe Spurs or Castle without the 20points
Spurs will easily turn it around, on crakin' form with 'Arry in charge. Think Newcastle will do aswell, They're too big to go down.

There's currently FIVE points separating over half (11 teams) of the Premier League.
The team team third from bottom (Sunderland) is actually ahead of the supposed 1 point per game average required to achieve safety.
It's completely wide open, there are currently at least twelve teams in a relegation battle, it's a bit obvious isn't it?

Sheffield United had 20 points on Boxing Day in 2007 and went down. They actually beat Arsenal 1-0 in a Christmas game that season.
We're struggling badly to score goals at the moment (just two from open play in the last six games) and if we don't sort it we will be in trouble.
Our goal difference is also a cause for concern and when you consider some of the fixtures we've got in the next four or five weeks, you don't really see it improving.

Unless we can find another decent striker in the transfer window, then we ourselves could make up that third place... i don't believe that hanging on to Kitson is necessarily the answer either....

Mmmm. Rumours of Blackburns demise are premature to say the least. It's not even Chrimbo yet. Mind you Brazil look doomed.

TP wunna change tact he will go out not to lose against Blackburn that will be a certain fact. So I wouldn't expect us to go gungho at Blackburn. I hope I am wrong and we go out and give them the kind of performance that we gave in the second half of the Toon game.

I think the PL is a lot closer this year, we could do with a couple of wins to secure a mid-table position over Christmas.
