How about
"I know they have the worst defensive record in the Premiership but they have a team of word class players and it would be folly to change our tactic of 10 men in defence. After all it has served us well so far this season. Don't forget they were Premiership champions in 1995 - you don't go from champions to relegation fodder overnight."

but all he has to add is - However, we are probably playing them at the right time and will be trying our hardest to take all 3 points back home with us.

Will say that Blackburn have been in the Premiership for quite some time 'which they have', will say that Blackburn possess some quality players 'which they do', will say that on their day they are capable of giving any team a decent game 'which they are', if we are not on our game throughout the entire 90 minutes then they have quality throughout their side that can hurt us 'which they do'.
Cannot argue with any of the above really because it shows a respect and without showing this then you will quickly become unstuck.
Personally speaking there is nothing at all wrong in showing respect just as long as our players enter that field of play after being put in the right frame of mind 'which they do'.

Tazi - on the whole I agree. I am genuinely becoming concerned that we don't approach games with the right mentality. Wigan would be a good example, we never looked like we really beleived we could win, even though at the time the had a very poor home record.

Yeh its really frustrating when you think of how far backwards the club has gone in the last couple of years. I mean what is Pulis playing at? He doesn't deserve such great fans as StokeyCokey etc. I mean only 13th in arguably the best league in the world when you consider the multi billions at his disposal especially when you think the squad he inherited had just won the European cup oops just avoided relegation. Hopefully Pulis will wise up and do as much for Stoke as great supporters such as stokeycokey already do

I don't really mind him bigging them up in public, so long as behind closed doors he's making it clear that we can go there and get the 3pts, I do wonder what exactly he does tell them though, our away game plan thus far has been to sit back and defend for the full 90 mins, we've shown fleeting glimpses like the second half at Newcastle, but other than that our away form has been nothing short of turning up, bending over and saying "go on, have your way with me".

Not that i believe for one moment like as that will be his teamtalk. If i were Tony Pulis my teamtalk would be: 'just get out there and give e'm a fuckin knobbin'.

I'm with you on this one tazi.
I've no problem with TP bigging up the opposition, I think he does it to ensure no complacency creeps in.
Actually Blackburn DO have some very good players and they will give someone a thumping some time soon just as Sunderland did yesterday. TP is trying to do all he can to make sure its not us!

They do have some very good players but their confidence is shot. If we go there with attacking ambitions an early goal would see their heads go down and a comfortable win is there for the taking. They are 2nd from bottom because they have been very poor, we should be busting a gut to take advantage of this.

Ive said on a similar thread before re. arsehole wanker. What he says on camera and what he says in the dressing room are most probably completely different.
So the man has some respect for managers?
If you heared the post match interviews, he said something along the lines of "Stoke is my life."
I think you need to be abit more realistic stokeycokey and stop reading into things too much

i think our best performance away was at boro where until the sending off we were the better team. even at 1-0 down we played good football and were unlucky to lose
i think that game scarred tp and has made the team more cautious away from home as a result
