I was half listening.
Did John Acres say he understood Pugh and Whelan were retaining their places, and that Wilko was slotting in at RB to cover for Griffin?

I heard the same on the 4.30 bulletin. Not sure how true it is, or where they've had their info from. As long as Fuller starts why not give 'em a chance. Think Tong should start ahead of Pugh though.

he was just basically saying thats what he thinks will happen, it didnt really sound as if he had anything to back this up
he then went onto say 'i think Ricardo will start' as if it was something earth shattering

On the back of one decent display at St James' Park, it'd be strange if Pugh somersaulted to the top of the list for the left wing slot , from nowhere, despite Tonge looking eager and classy every time he's come on.
Still, better Pugh than Tricky Dicky Cresswell.
Maybe Pulis has got him pinned as an impact sub? Wonder where it leaves Soares in the 2nd half of the season?
