It appears that poor old Martin, his lad and his family, not only failed to conform to the expected standards of being receiving a beating at the hands of, what has been described in local media as, "home" supporters, also not initially letting the club deal with it (when Britannia ground stewards apparently ignored his plight at the time) but then he had the audacity to go to the press causing the club further negative PR!
I guess it's unfortunate, from the heiracy's point of view, that he survived what could have been far worse to actually speak to the press about his complaint.
I and others question the club's response.
Eye.

It's a shame those morons could'nt have chosen to have picked on someone who would have tried to have given them a damned good hiding.
If someone ever came towards my-self in a threatening manner like the way those morons must have done, then i would have ensured to have taken at least one of them out. It's a shame that one of those morons never got their heads battered repeatedly againt the chairs and concrete floors.
In my opinion the concerned was correct to inform the local media, as this way it is not simply going to be swept under the carpet.

i think i know this guy ,if it's who I'm thinkin of then he's normally a decent ,pleasant fella ..but then again if he wasn't he doesn't deserve that...the least stoke can do is make a gesture of good will to him and his lad and then they can pull their finger out and catch the scum who did it

He basically wanted Stoke to shell out on giving him and his son a plane ticket for wed to go with the squad, as a good will gesture from them, and scholes has said no

Mark,
I think what Tony is saying is that Scholes is miffed because the bloke who was set upon talked to the Sentinel about his ordeal and is therefore not willing to follow up the suggestions made on here as to ways the club could in some ways help to take the bad taste of the experience away for the guy and his son of this experience that happened at the stadium, unhindered by the stewards the club employes to avoid such a happening.
In a nut shell, Tony is suggesting that Mr Scholes would prefer supporters to take their kickings in silence save for mentioning them to the club who will than be better able to hush them up.

Make a note, next tim you get beat up by a gang of Neanderthal retards don't report it to the press otherwise you get no sympathy from the club.

I really, really hope that what MW says isn't correct. If it IS correct then Scholes should hang his head in shame.
After finally looking to get the PR-department in some useful shape then this baffling handling of a horrible incident appears (if true).
I really, really, really hope that this isn't true. If it is then the PR-department has hit an all-time low that is almost impossible to beat for later generations.

Perhaps the truth is not so hard to believe, but I do have the emails. There is much more I can tell you about the aircraft charter shambles to Newcastle. (that would have provided seats at less then £145 return).
I feel that loyal supporters have been let down. once again when a simple act could unite the club with its previously distanced fans.

maybe we should raise some funds ourselves, lets face it there are almost 2500 registered members on this board alone and if we all gave 30 pence each we would have enough to pay for Mr Parker and his sons season tickets for next season, it would, if nothing else send a message to him that we as an entity stand shoulder to shoulder with all good and decent stokies everwhere, we have no chance of getting the funds together with regard to wednesday but we could do this.
i also dont remember seeing an official statement for the club and this to me is a disgrace, maybe we should lobby the club or shame them into inproving the cctv system to better cover all areas of the stadium to try and ensure that this kind of thing never happens again
i also think that smudge should ensure that our feelings and conveyed to the media if the club dont want to know, at least the wider community should hear that we as a forum of fans can and will speak with one voice to condem violent crime in all its forms.

KE - I respect you for trying to protect 'us' from the truth - but personally I'm a big boy now - so, with all due respect - what do these emails say?
Also what is the 'shambles' that you refer to? How are the club involved in this shambles? I thought that YOU were organising the chartered plane?
Please forgive me if I'm mistaken - but I'm sure you can appreciate that you are giving little information out - so I'm simply asking the questions.
All the best mucka, R
PS how's your son getting on?
PPS - thats a bummer KE - by coincidence you logged off (or your last post) a few minutes before my questions were posted. Hopefully we continue the conversation tomorrow.

seegee - I think you've hit a bit of a raw nerve with knowingeye on this one as its well known that his son (i believe) was rejected by Stoke and ever since then he's been a clinger on trying to stir up any kind of crap he can for the club.
He isn't even a Stoke fan so why he has taken up this personal crusade is another question (well it's not he just won't drop his personal vendetta).

PiiBaa - I hope RAF doesn't mind, but 'Nail on Head Son'
SCFC is a business, yes it has customers, yes it should do it's best for them. Similarly Bargain Booze has to deal with this kind of shite every Friday night! There are dick-heads in this world and unfortunately we live in this world.
I'm more than willing to put my hand in my pocket as a Potter - but lets get real here......the club are doing pretty damn well at the moment and I feel that certain members of our 'suporter base' are all too willing to exploit issues that are not of the clubs making
Have some Karma my friend

KE - Hi Tony, I'm disgusted to hear about the voracious attack on a 'fellow' Stoke supporter at the game on Sat. TS - Hey Rudgie, check this email out. Isn't this that miserable fuckwit who's son couldn't hit the proverbial barn door. He's now trying to make out that we're all cunts because some 16 year old chav clipped some guys ear in the Boothen t'other day. JR - Oh Tony, you're such a hard nosed businessman - his son wasn't that bad...I've never seen such gleaming boots in all my 50 years in football. TS - yer John, but now he wants us to charter a plane for this guy and his family, so they can watch the Newcastle game. JR - you're not giving em the Manager's seat are you? Not that nice recaro one thats heated? TS - yer but he's gone to the Sentinel. What shall we do? PC - Fuck em. I hate the Sentinel

I hate the Sentinel Stunner, does seem this guy, has gone out of his way a awful lot, for someone he does not know, and does not know the entire story of why he got beat up, i cant see how he got beat to be honest for kicking bottles? and no one stepped in? out of 8000+ in the boothen no one seems to have saw it? a stick with Stoke's decision, its not as if it is there fault its happened!

I feel for the bloke that got the slap but why is it the fault of the club. They employ a firm to do the stewarding and there were a hell of a lot of police there. ??? As has been said 8000 potential witnesses. What more can the club do and why should they foot the bill for something they didn't do?

Cant understand the issues here.
The Club are responsible if there was an ilegal assault carried out on its premises and Tony Scholers sjould be concerned.
Surely the CCTV should be scrutinised as it would be if someone invaded the pitch or threw a bottle and the culprits charged and banned

PiiBaa/seegee,
Your leap to try and rubbish KE's efforts by your uninformed cheap shots only takes the spotlight off the individual it should be focused on.
I won't embarrass KE by listing the number of constructive things he has involved himself in at Stoke since his son moved on to a scholarship at WBA but I can assure you if he is the vindictive individual you have tried to create then the club and supporters could do with more like him.
I'm afraid you have added two and two together and in your rush to try and decry someone making genuine efforts around the club you have scored it at 5.
stokiesteve,
No he does not. Infact the only club that his son has watched this season other than the one he plays for is Stoke.

Seegee
"i cant see how he got beat to be honest for kicking bottles? and no one stepped in? out of 8000+ in the boothen no one seems to have saw it? "
I made the same point in the original thread.
I asked " What block did the incident take place in?" "What point during the match did it occur?" " Did anyone witness the incident?"
Got no response to any of the questions.
If most of the ground can spot a guy rushing to leave the the ground to get to his sprogging wife how come no-one witnessed a ruckus involving 1 dozen or so people. Doesn't add up.
