Stoke manager Tony Pulis and his backroom team will be flying out on scouting missions after Saturday's clash with Fulham to finalise a list of transfer targets.
Pulis has been given the green light by chairman Peter Coates to splash the cash in January.
And the City boss confirmed much work had already been done behind the scenes as the club attempt to build on their highly satisfactory start to life in the Barclays Premier League.
Pulis said: "Myself and the rest of our scouting team will be flying here and there after Saturday's game. There are a lot of games on over the weekend and we will be taking in as many as possible.
"We've got a list of players and it's a case of taking a final look and then getting down to the fine detail. Identifying targets is one thing, but then we have to find out if they are available and go from there.
"We've been very pleased with all the players we've got here, but you always have to look to improve and we are hoping to bring in two or three who can help us."

You reckon! We haven't signed rucks of overseas players as yet so I wouldn't hold your breath
I wasn't suggesting that these were the only games globally anyway! BUT - West ham are having a fire sale. We've been linked with at least one Pompey player recently, and we've also been linked with both Polish and Serbian players in the past, so it's interesting.

I don't know. It's a possibility though. I'm more hopeful of a couple of West Ham cast offs to be honest.

Thing is Magic, i think wages will always be a stumbling block with a lot of WHU players and they are the players they will be looking to ship out (the high earners that is) The Zigic comment was one of tounge in cheek and optomism as i think he would fit right in to our style of play.

Yes - he would fit in. He wouldn't even have to jump to nod in Rorys throws.
