I had some respect for Brown ahead of this game - Hull have scrapped their way up the lower leagues just like us & shown some of the premiership "divine-right" prima-donnas a thing or two since we've been promoted.
So instead of yesterday being an advert for the good, competitive football that some promoted clubs are well capable of, his so-called mind-games (in his mind only I'm afraid) and unbelievable pedantic conduct in and around the technical area put paid to this & completely blew any respect I had for him.
The game ended up being tetchy, ill-tempered and not as entertaining as it should have been - indeed, although I was happy with 4 points from these last two home games, it left me quite depressed and almost questioning why I'm spending a couple of grand this season to see stuff like that (will soon get over this though!).
I sit in good sight of the dugouts and there are only a few managers that have had me incandescent with rage over the years - Sanchez, Warnock, Keane are all I can bring to mind as I sit here. I cannot even remember Brown when we have played them previously, despite Barmby mugging us at the end one-time, so all this nonesense he must have decided was a good idea only very recently.
Don't get me wrong, I have loved some of the "character" managers over the years - Barry Fry was a favourite, and Moyes jumping in the lower-tier with the Stokies was a joy to see - there are many others who are intelligent enough to know what works & what doesn't - Brown is ignorant on all fronts.
His constant whining at each and EVERY decision was just pathetic to watch - he must think that on the law of averages if he gets just ONE decision because of it then it's worth the gallons of disrespect he will get from ordinary fair-minded people. The Dean Windass stuff was just desparate and unprofessional, as was the mucking around before the pen.
Maybe he's always been like this I don't know, but it seems he has got completely carried away after their good start & is trying just a little bit too hard to play the big-time Charlie and it will back-fire on him at some point.
Yes it was a bit of a needle match, but highly paid professionals should conduct themselves in an appropriate manner both on & off the field - Brown did neither.
What goes around comes around, and although MOTD were quoting that no-one has ever been relegated with 22 points at this point of the season, with no win in 6 and a spawny draw at Portsmouth last week, there is a first time for everything.

Good post, couldn't agree more. The Windass antics were pure pantomime and it's sad to see well paid footballers having to resort to stupid spoiling tactics in order to "put off" a player taking a throw-in,non-league football awaits you Mr Windass

Hull are by no means safe and I am sure they will drop down the table as the better teams pick up results. When did Hull last win?
