Me and some others behind (block 25) me tried in vain to get the Tony Pulis - Red and white army going, I was singing it for about 5 minutes and there was a few times when the rest followed. The boothen just didn't seem up for it

Rather strange to me
While the Villa and Everton games were played in nice sunny weather, and were electric, the last two games have definately been below par atmosphere wise
When people have two coats and gloves on, and you are on tenterhooks because you are playing sides that you EXPECT to beat - then maybe that is why, but for me its games like these that the crowd really NEED to get behind the players and lift them to the three points
Get it back on track for Tuesday night - PLEASE

The Lads in block 19 are dong their best to slow down delilah by smoking weed, trouble is the stewards then throw them out.
Maybe we should all drop speed then we would all be at the same speed, or get block 19 to sing it to the beat of when the reds

Think theres a couple of reasons for the drop in atmosphere -:
1) The performances havn't been great the last 2 games. When the team is playing well the crowd react. Yesterday was very frustrating seeing so many Delap throws with no one really getting on the end of one.
2) It also depends who we are playing. The last 2 games have been against the sides who came up with us so we have got nothing to prove to them in terms of singing / atmosphere. But when the bigger clubs come to the brit we really pump it up to let them know exactly who we are. Man Utd was the best atmosphere ive seen from a stoke crowd for a long time. Non stop singing / taking the piss out of the scum fans. Hope we can keep it up as it must really spur the players on.

It doesn't help that we have been pretty poor on the pitch the last two games in comparison to previous fixtures. I was hung over today so did less shouting than usual :-) sums it up, the play on the pitch apart from a bit of magic between Higgy and Mamma has been dross.

Simple solution = we get an early goal and the place gets rocking, play shit and dont create anything and we start shitting it and stay silent !

It's hardly surprising, the performances and approaches to the last two games have been below the standard of previous games and the frustration has probably got to fans. A good home performance and a positive set up will lift the place quite quickly again.

Hull fans were very impressive yesterday..most vocal away following of the season so far easily...I could hear them from the concourse under The Boothen... Says it all... We seem to be going back to 'normal' now..the way things always used to be at The Brit..with Block 20, 21 and 22 having large sections of supporters who don't like noise or standing up...I've tried to get people around me singing but its like trying to raise the dead...have a few drinks before the game FFS and shed some inhibitions...break the habit of a lifetime.. STAND UP AND MAKE SOME FUCKING NOISEAtmosphere yesterday again was piss-poor...after about 10 minutes...same with WBA... Well done Hull fans yesterday... They were magnificent..from the first to the last kick of the ball... Outstanding performance.. 2,900 Hull outsung 25,000 of us.. Shocking..

I honestly didn't think Hull were anything that special. I heard them a few times but not much. I need my ears cleaning out obviously!

The papers think differently:
"Their fans, notorious on the road, noisier than any at home, evidently like it. Crowds have risen from under 17,000 when they gained promotion last season to over 27,000 this"

Another problem, not to be overlooked, as you only have to raise your voice in The South Stand and it's as if you've just shot a man, the way the gestapo in that end swarm, over react and try to intimidate you.

I think it's a combination of : 1. the cold 2. the teams we were playing and 3. we were not really very good Look, we are miles ahead of where we expected to be at this stage of the season, but, let's be honest, some of our football lately has been on the one-dimensional side hasn't it? Exactly right IMO. Motivation to sing, for all of the above reasons, is a bit lacking at the moment (although that didn't stop me against Hull at times). Crucially we need to get back to playing some proper football for the fans to get behind, it has only seemed to have happened in isolated 5-minute spells since the Arsenal game.
