Comments: Iwelumo's form is frankly astonishing when i consider some of his efforts for Stoke. I'd have him in the squad now however, and Commons - even though he's a tosser.

Iwelumo has certainly suprised me thats for sure, never looked a bad player at stoke, but not too the standard's he is producing at wolves, not that suprised how well paterson and commons are doing, both left stoke as good prospects, and both for different reasons, glad commons went as he thought he was above the club, disappointed martin left though, although it was a good career move for him, as he wasn't likely to break into our squad.

I actually don't think big Chris got a good run in the stoke team, he was always in and out, he did show glimpses of what he would later go on to prove at Colchester, charlton and now Wolves, but Pulis doesn't generally like playing players who he didn't personally sign and more often than not moves them on, which is a shame, similar story with Karl Henry and Kriss Commons.

Some truth in that. The other side of the coin is that TP also displays an occasional misplaced loyalty towards players he has signed when it isn't always warranted (possibly his one significant weakness), e.g. Pericard.

I was at the Blades v Dingles match tonight, Iwelumo and Ebanks-Blake were possibly the difference between the sides - Iwelumo particularly looks absolutely lethal in front of goal. Karl Henry put the cross in for his second btw too ... he looks an extremely good player indeed for Wolves.

Yeah, I am surprised. I always thought big Iwelumo didn't get the chance, but never seemed to have the quality, any thing like he shows now. But I am also surprised at the lack of Parkin action. Still think that he has got a great timing, great shot and good brain.

I half expected Porkin to be a decent signing for PNE - he looked like a goalscorer at CCC level, but maybe he just hasnt got what it takes
Patterson scored goals for Scunny last year, and netted twice in the space of ten minutes off the bench for Burnley at Oakwell on Monday night
Big Chris lacked confidence with us as he never really had a good run in the side, but I think he learned a lot from playing with Jamie Cureton (very underrated) at Colchester, and am pleased for the bug guy
Personally, I just like to see ex Stokies doing well - as I think they still love us and would give their right arms to be playing for us now

pleased for big chris but allways felt he was nothing more than a supersub for us. when he came off the bench he did create havoc and the opposition used to shit themselves yet when he was [rarely]in the starting eleven he never looked the same player? parkin couldnt understand his outburst when he left if he cant be arsed to prove himself in the reserves how does he expect tone to put him in the starting x1? no suprise that he is now warming the bench at preston? perhaps they could loan him to hull for satdee in place of giovani?
