That doesn't sound encouraging does it.

We've got Sonks or Corty to step into Ryan's shoes and Ric to come back in for Kits. It's all about the squad this year, we were always going to pick up injuries along the way, it's time for others to step up.
Hopefully Ryan and Kits will be back sooner rather than later.

Big miss at the back but I guess it will give Cort the chance to shine against his old club, just hope it doesn't disrupt what has become a stable and settled back line....

"Skipper Andy Griffin is also in the wars after breaking his hand during Saturday's win over West Brom, but can play on as normal with a plaster cast over the fracture"
I might have imagined it but didn't griff wear the cast against manure?

Griff did well to play on with a broken hand. The injury happened in the first half apparently.

Fair play to Griff, that probably hurt

We'll have to use the squad. We have some able replacements.

Gutted for Shawcross, he has been a real class act for me since being back in the team. Also bad news for Kitson, looks like he's never going get any luck for us at this rate! Hope they both soon make full recoveries.

Its a bloody shame Shawcross is injured. We've looked solid since his return and defensively very capable.

One players' loss is another players' gain. Hopefully Ryan's replacement (you would assume Cort) will take the opportunity with both hands.

Knowles would you not expect to see Sonko given the chance? Did you hear about the fall out Cort and Pulis had, that is why he was left of the bench was it not for a few weeks?
To be honest I have not seen enough of Sonko to judge him, I would like to see him have a chance. As for Cort, I have never been the greatest fan of his when the ball is not in the air. Looks always prone to make a mistake which at this level you cannot afford to do! However, he did put in an excellent showing at Anfield earlier this season.

Well Sonko got a knock a couple of weeks back for the reserves (which nobody knew about) and he only made his comeback last night.
To be fair, he played pretty well and walked out of Brisbane Road looking fairly fit (unlike Andrew Davies).

Did Davies look knackered or injured at the end of last night's game?

What are your views on Davies, Knowles? I can never remember him when playing against us. Also where did he play?

Davies played right back and coped OK (although he was murdered in the opening 20 minutes by the skilful Taarabt).
He could barely walk after the game and I asked him if he was OK to which he said "Yeah, I feel great", which slightly bemused me.
It is clear from the two starts he has had in the reserves that TP has signed him as a right back (moving Wilko into the centre to accomodate him). I can't see him displacing captain and well performing Griff though.

Buying Davies and Sonko will always remain a mystery to me when you look at what else we had in the squad.

Buying Davies and Sonko will always remain a mystery to me when you look at what else we had in the squad. Well bearing in mind that Sonko may well play on Saturday when we are only missing 1 player and if Griff 'miraculously' hadn't recaptured his form or if he loses it then Davies will be straight in. Seemed like perfectly good signings to me. The only baffling thing to me in the transfer window was how we didn't get a left winger or maybe even 2.

Put Griff (if his hand is ok) on the left, drop Higgy into the middle and play davies on the right!

if Cort is persona non grata then put him on the transfer list.
if its a medium or samll size row then he should play
Sonko & Davies dont sound 100% (or even 90%) ready yet.
Hull play 433 so we could risk Dicko at left back & move Higgy alongside Ab Faye as above.

if Cort is persona non grata then put him on the transfer list. I'm not sure that's the case is it? He came on for Ryan against Brazil, and I would guess that he'll start this weekend. Hull play 433 so we could risk Dicko at left back & move Higgy alongside Ab Faye as above. On the face of it, Dull don't play with much width, despite having Halmosi. Having said that, the formation up front is quite flexible, with Geovanni seemingly allowed to roam. Personally, I'll be more comfortable with our strongest options at full-back, and at the moment that means Griff and Higgy.

Nah i think it will be a straight swap with Cort coming in and changing as little as possible to a defensive unit that has looked very solid in recent weeks.

Davies is definately not ready to start from what I saw yesterday. Sonko might make the starting line up but Cort would be the more sensible option. The more pressing question is who will take Kitson's place?
