I notice on this profile Simon Sturridge apparently only played for Birmingham City.

We might have a chance of getting him on loan but I can't see Man City selling him until they see how far he progresses. However much cash they have why would they sell a potential England player at so young an age?

There will be a lot better teams than us after him IMO

probably fella, but wouldn't it be nice if his uncle put in a good word for us when ever I hear his name on MOTD I have a quick flash back to the mid 1990s team Lou assembled that got us to the play offs

He lives in Congleton so handy for a loan signing.

I don't think Man City would let him go but I can see him being let out on loan to some team to give him some first team action. When they start buying in January I don't think he'll get as many games.

Chelsea are meant to be after him. I thought he played extemely well against us the other week and seemed a far better option than the highly rated Ched Evans (on that one showing at least)

Sturridge is a bit younger than Shawcross was when we loaned him and Sturridge has played youth football for England whereas Shawcross hadn't at the time he joined us.

apparently there having problems with his contract too and he could end up leaving on a free. so they may be keen to sell in jan if it looks like he wants to leave. probably end up at chelsea next summer.

At his age he can't leave on a free they'd be entitled to compensation from a tribunal. Not sure how much tribunal compo claims for young players go up to these days. Several £million I should think.
