Anybody got this book that charts the 25 post Waddington Stoke managers that led to the Premier League ?
In the 100 years before Waddington there were just 15 Stoke managers. In the 29 years following him there were 25.
Amazing that we ended up with Steve Cotterill when Pulis and Steve Coppell were shortlisted.
Instead of Kevin Keegan and Denis Smith we ended up with Chic Bates.
We we also had John Toshack, Martin O'Neil and Harry Redknapp on our managerial shortlists at some stage in the last 25 years.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing !!
I was sure the 7-0 home defeat to Birmingham was under Kamara ( only 1 win in 11 games ), but Chic Bates was the Manager ?
Other than the losses under Kamara what was the real breaking point ?
Worth the £4.99 and well worth adding to the Christmas list ( no I didn't write it ).

After Burley ran off at the press conference in 2002. Pulis came in and said "It doesn't matter to me whether I am 2nd, 3rd or 10th choice. What matters is I want to come here, and this is what I call a proper football club. Others might say it's a difficult job and not a good career move, but I don't look at it like that at all. It's a fantastic job. I am proud to be Manager"

I recall the 7-0 ( couldn't be certain of the Manager ), prior to the game the Sentinel got hold of a list of players that the club wanted rid of.
Can you remember that ?
