I can't believe it ... I've just seen Mowbray's post match interview on the BBC Sport website and he says that he's ...'more interested in developing good footballers than winning games! ...
... now I'm all for seeing the ball knocked around well on the pitch but if he truely believes this then he's MAD! They are down already ... surely!
Give me TP any day ... Fantastic again today Tone ... Well Done. :D

Was it me or did he intimate that he was producing players for bigger clubs.

Mobray has lost the plot as well as the game. If he thinks that football is only about weaving pretty triangular patterns - then he's be better off taking up basket weaving. Football is about variety - passing when you need to, tackling when you need to, playing hard when you need to - with the object (should he need reminding) of putting the ball in the net. Anyway - why we are on the subject - I think the goal was proof that Stoke can play his daft notion of the 'free flowing' and 'attractive football' - when the necessary - as well as knowing how to play other ways - when necessary. Did I also spot the occasional 'long ball' from an increasingly desperate West Brom team today. Surely not?!

You see, the only flaw in Tony Mowbray's theory is if you look in this column here that says GOALS, It says 1 to Stoke, and 0 to West Brom.
Go back to your farm now Mowbray.

Higgy's cross and the subsequent goal makes my previous request for Tony to sign a decent left winger such as Elia of FC Twente even more relevant. We would then see goals like this and some proper attacking play on a regular basis instead of just having to rely on Rory's throwins all the time. Please, Tony, think about this in the January window instead of more defenders/midfielders with an aversion to crossing the halfway line!!!

This pretty 'carpet football' is just a media myth . As was shown today they can hoof the ball with the best of em!! They can also be "physical" with the best of them as well. How many injuries did we rack up compared to them?! Today wass vindication of us and how we play and I think the MotD team acknowledged that in a roundabaout way as well.

And when that bird commentating said "45 year old manager" I thought she was being sarcastic ;D ;D ;D Not since Jim Leighton has there been such an ugly mug on telly every week ;D ;D ;D You just go right ahead and play your pretty football in pretty triangles Mr M and we'll just worry about being 3 places above you at the end of the season
