I know that we have had two difficult away trips since the Arsenal game, but after witnessing our efforts yesterday, I began to wonder if "Wengergate" has really affected our boys adversely.
It seems to me that we have gone out of our way to prove that we are more than a physical presence, with the end result being us not putting in a tackle worthy of the name in 180 minutes of football.
Manure are fantastic team without doubt, but I couldn't help but feel our players were "autograph hunting", and didn't want to ruffle them up for fear of not getting the chance to swap shirts at the end.
Lets hope the next two home games see us back to our "up and at em" best. We need to use the overhyped physical stuff to our advantage and play up to it where necessary. I didn't think I would ever watch this Stoke side turn in an effort like yesterday's so lets just hope we have saved our worst performance of the season for our least important fixture of the season.

It's had a positive affect. Teams will not look forward to playing at the Brit. That's got be positive.

Hey PolPotter ... can you remove that picture please as it's making me feel ill ... or at least find one of him rolling around on the floor in actual, not rehearsed pain?

I think you may get your answer in the next two home games Dave. We know what our physical approach can do to Brazil and if we aren't up for it against Hull they will turn us over.
I wasn't expecting us to go to Old Trafford and come away with anything, but I was expecting us to show a bit more fight and be a bit more in their faces. Our defending for the Carrick and Berbatov goals was pathetic...Derbyesque in fact.
I was very disappointed with our performance yesterday.

In every game since, Delap has been booked for absolutely nothing.

We have only conceded early goals twice (both in Manchester) and have been on the receiving end of our worst two defeats
Once they scored inside four minutes the result was unfortunately inevitable
Back to ourselves for the next two home games will see us mid table by the end of November

I don't sympathise with the players over the Wengergate aftermath. They are professionals and have to do their job. If they don't like it they can go and dig roads for a living.

Well it does make you wonder after saturdays non contact football from stoke, i'll tell you somthing sir Fergie is an intelligent man and a very respected & influential man in the game, he would of sided with stoke when wenger had his outburst for a reason, that reason would of been to stop stoke playing our natural tough commited tackling game against his superstars & it looked like it worked, we were like a bunch of pansys yesterday!

The shit would outmuscle most sides. They can handle themselves. Even with this in mind we did seem reluctant to hassle them yes.
From Saturday it can get back to normal. the reason we've won a few games is because work aard and get on top of teams. There's no reason not to.
