Pay homage to the samba beat football club from Rio Smethwick right here. Please note that this thread will be unpinned should Laughing Boy Mowbray decide to not bother and send the inevitable three points gift in a congratulatory telegram. Don't forget to pre-order your copy of the Excuse and Star to read all about how the Albion were thugged out of the game.

hopefully the players are not as cocky and so sure of themselves as this admin fella !! havent noticed yet , that just because Stoke are at home, that a game is a guaranteed win!! far from it !!!

Really looking forward to this one, even with it being 6 days away.
The Britannia is always alive for a game against the Baggies, Saturday should be even better!
Remember, 'we always beat West Brom!'

Yep, this game was on my mind before the United match. SO important and it'll be a tough game, no doubt about it. Okay we don't have Fuller, but we should still have enough to come out on top in this game. Kitson will likely play the Fuller role now and wont drop as deep because Sidibe will be there. Delap will cause mayhem and hopefully the lads will bounce back well and just forget about yesterday, that can happen to the best of teams at old trafford. I'll be nervous for this game though, VERY important, a win points us 6 points clear from the bottom which will be very healthy even if the league is tight at the moment. COOOOMMEEEE ONNNN!! Wish I was there for this one

Early start to this thread.
Yeah this is a large game. Just hope our players have got the balls to bounce back. We need to get at them and let them know who we are and all those cliches.

From what I saw on Saturday, WBA are shite. I like Mowbray's footballing philosophy but you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
Miller is a threat (unpredictable) and we are without Fuller, but if Stoke can't beat them we are in trouble.
Must win game.

Yeah Brazil were awful Saturday. Even bearing in mind their opponents are a very good side they were dire. Second half was like a practice match.

Must win game if we've any hope of survival.
This will test the ability of Tone's management and tatical skills.
He's got to get the lads up for this one and at their throats from the off, hopefully with Soares in the team.
Prediction
2-0
Kitson and Shawcross.

Before the season started, i looked at this game, and the one that follows it, namely Hull City at home, as our biggest games pre-Christmas
That is still the case, people dwelling on Man Utd etc. is pointless, realistically, like a lot of people, i'd written that off as a defeat beforeheand
And regardless the size/manner of defeat, Stoke will and can pick themselves up again and be up for this
A home tie, and we all know how much the fans will be up for it
I'm going to be more nervous at this game than any so far, and that simply may be because, anything other than a victory would be a disappointment, and i know that would be the feeling of any of the promoted sides fans playing their fellow promoted sides at home
And quite rightly, recent and not so recent history does tells us that yes 'we always beat West Brom, we always beat West Brom' - mainly at home, but some stunning away wins too
But this season we're all in a new environment with regards to the league we're in and im nervous already, and with the lack of Ricardo, who'd be chomping at the bit to get back out and face the baggies again, im even more so
Just hope we can secure three points in this one which will boost our confidence back up for the next huge game against Hull

I am actually quite worried about this game as it is a must win!! Particularly being without Fuller!
But I think that we will win it 3-1 after being 1 down.

Feed 'em on raw meat Tone!!
A good battering of the Baggies is just what the doctor ordered.

Boing Boing Baggie Shit.
Give it to 'em Stoke.
2-1 City (with Baggies goal a late consolation and Kitson to get off the mark)

i know we always beat them and they are shite at the back but i am slightly nervous about it with our 2 top scorers from last season missing. I really really hope he plays Soares otherwise im not sure where a goal might come from other than Rory

1-0 to the Albion. Miller to score a 1 on 1 after out pacing your defense, Albion fans outsing your lot as we have done all season even though we were 3-0 down to Chelsea/Man United and Dull we still showed them what proper support is! BAGGIESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Now that is funny. ;D

Behave yourself Jacko! The "admin fella" in question has earned the right to be cocky. Unlike some he has suffered the thin and thinner times unlike some who didn't even attend when they lived as close to the ground as Trent Valley Road. ;D

will be gutted if we dont win this one, even without fuller!!!
i think it will be close but 2-0 2-1 seems realistic
shawcross is due a goal from a corner
whelan and soares must play with mama and kitson up front
cresswell must only come on as a striker

shawcross is due a goal from a corner whelan and soares must play with mama and kitson up front Whelan/Soares must play so that we can deliver quality set pieces for Ryan (or anyone) to score from a corner. Griffin's corners at Wigan seemed OK but he isn't a natural deliverer and neither is Rory. I'd love Whelan to start- he deserves his chance.

Soares is required as his pace will back the forwards up. Whelan is required because he is the most likely to provide Kitson with a defence unlocking ball.

Goarnn Stoke! this is a MUST win, the opponents from Samba De Smethwick will no doubt put up a fight that they have failed to do for the most of the season but these are very beatable and we MUST beat them on Saturday to put us in a much healthier position.
To see a distraught Adrian Chiles would make my weekend, Goarnnn lads, you can do it!!
Mighty Potters 3-1 Brazil (Kitson x2, Shawcross) the rest is not important.

This next month really is what it's all about for me. Opportunity to compound West Broms position, then an opportunity to drag Hull right back into it. Followed by Newcastle away(please not Shearer's first game) and Fulham home. Let's start it positively on Saturday. We need to be fearless!
