Any reason why we're still waiting for confirmation of the Cort and Hill moves?
Lawrence was confirmed on Jan 2nd last year after he joined in identical circumstances. I don't think anyone really doubts it'll happen (if it hasn't already) - but it's a bit odd that we haven't rushed to get a positive story confirmed.
And the dotting of 'i's and crossing of 't's with Griffin seems to have developed into a drawn-out process again?

Griffin's signature is in the bag, now where the bag is at this moment is anyone's guess.

Might as well say it as i always do yet it never happens, but .... they might want to announce multiple signings on the same day so they're holding back ?

Cort said in an interview on Sunday that he expected to sign when his loan runs out on the 16th of this month. Presumably Hill's deal to Palace will go through the same day.

if you remember last year the griffin thing was drawn out then too on 2 seperate occasions, he is a money grabbing bastard haggling over the finer points he should be glad we are back in for him after snubbing us last summer

Griffin may or not be but Radio Stoke has made it abundantly clear the delay is due to Derby not yet completing Danny Mills signature.

The Derby Mills signing was only ever initially a loan, wasn't it? And that must've been completed as he played for them on Sunday?

Yes its got nothing to do with Derby or Danny Mills its Griffin again haggling over the contract. I kknow he is a good player and would boost our squad but he really is a money grabbing twat.

Sounds about right gary but i wreckon he wants to come back to stoke, mills was only a loan thing apparently and i doubt that would be the reason for the hold up.

I suppose it could be Derby who are holding it up if Griffin is haggling with them over a pay-off. But we never seem to rush these things, do we Cort most certainly mentioned "around the 16th" in his after, Castle match, interview. He seemed quite relaxed about it all.

Hackett, you really are a tit mate. You know absolutely nothing about the Griffin move, and your opinions on him are without any foundation at all.
I have never posted this before, but just to remove any doubt at all, I know a good friend of the Griffin family, and I can confirm that the deal to re-sign Griffin has been completed since before Christmas.
There is no haggling over contracts or anything of the sort. It is done and dusted as far as that is concerned and Griffin expects to be a Stoke player, be that on loan (to facilitate the move) or permanently prior to the Ipswich game.
Whether it happens is exclusively down to Derby.
Contract details are resolved and have been for some time. Additionally, if we had offered him the length of contract that we are now seemingly prepared to do, he would have signed in the Summer for substantially less money than he was on at Derby!
Get your facts right before you go spouting off mate!

Pulis said Griffin and Scholes "weren't far apart" on Saturday morning.
I thought we would have had an announcement by now, especially as the talks were plastered over both official sites.

Turtleton...See the announcement of a 4 and a half year contract today?
If we had offered him this in the Summer, he would have signed on substantially less money than he was on at Derby.
I don't do making things up mate. Never have and never will!
Hackett knows feck all about feck all, and his comments on this post re Griffin are at best ignorant, and at worst, troublemaking.

Not at all mate. I don't know Griffin personally, but I do know two very good friends of their family, and it is really annoying when idiots post rumour and conjecture, or in some cases, downright lies.
Things are looking really good at Stoke right now, better than they have done since the first Macari spell, in all honesty, and slowly but surely the club are making moves that could make us proud potters again.
The national media has spoken glowingly about us folliwng the Newcastle game, we are tieing our best players up on extended contracts early, we are spending big money on players, we are trying to attract some really exciting signings (whether they happen or not is debateable) and we really look like we are trying to progress as a club.
Needless jibing breeds bad blood, and that is the last thing this club needs right now. Hackett is a tool in this instance, and I am delighted to be able to say "i told you so".
Griffin is a cracking signing for this club, and I have no doubt, that if required, he will do a fine job for us in the Premier league.
That said, like many others, I don't want him to simply walk into the team, and believe that he needs to oust the two young lads for a full-back spot.
You can never have too many quality players though, and it is obvious to any blind man that our bench is amongst the weakest in the league. Improve the squad, and we really could be going places.
Griffin is a step in that direction! Long may it continue. We now have 3 Stokies in and around the 1st team and that can only be a good thing for the club!
Apologies for the rant.
