I attended the Cheshire FA strategy meeting 2008-2012 at Natwich town back in March, this week I received the 11 page report summary from the evening. the majority of people there involved with the grassroots and youth development outside of professional clubs just kept on saying in one format or another that we need more and better facilities, this will attract and maintain players, that's not mentioned much at all.
The FA said they were investing £200 million in grasroots over the 2008-2012 period, for Cheshire that equates to 4 changing rooms and 6 pitches, meanwhile bank accounts of all these foriegn players in the premiership get fatter and fatter whilst our national game seems to get worse.

Also schools need to get involved more. The current state of school football is very poor, The town sides are very hit and miss.

What was interesting were Inchy's columns in the Sentinel banging on about how good facilities in the USA were compared to ours. Better facilities are needed and better coaches.
