His contract is up in the summer. He is 32. He cant be on a big wage at stoke. The club stuck by him in the darkest hour of his football career. We honoured his contract when we could have shipped him back to Sunderland. However, what worries me is that Rory is due one last contract. It is an important one. Clubs, the media and the Premier League have all been alerted to his obvious weapon and its devastating effect. My fear is that some bigger clubs, with bigger budgets will come in and take Rory. With no transfer fee involved due to his contract expiring, they can offer a big whacking signing on fee and big wages for a few years. Rory is part of our identity and a huge part of what has made us so feared at home in the best league on the world. To lose him would be to lose a cult hero. We have to start talking to him now and offer him what he deserves. I hope he repays our faith in him by signing a new contract and continuing to terrorise opposing teams and managers into submission.
Gooaaarrrn Rory!!!

i was thinking more of if we stay up, we will have to buy more quality and his throws are really important to us, where is rory going to fit in to the team, beacause i still think a left winger is really important. he's been amazing for us so far this season though.

He will probably slot into the centre of midfield SGS

His natural position is probably as the defensive central midfielder but he has also played at right back on many occasions at previous clubs. I'd say where we usually play him on the left wing is probably the position he is least well suited to of the three I have mentioned.
