One of their posts Improving the atmosphere « on: Sun 02 Nov 08, 22:31 » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some people may have differing opinions on this but I feel generally our crowds have been nothing special so far this season in terms of noise. Stoke have set the standard and I'm sure this is going to contribute to their results at home this season. They absolutely terrified Arsenal this weekend, seeing Fabregas go over to take a corner having 1500 fans screaming "who are ya!?" at him was priceless. Everything about Stoke scares away teams because they are barbaric on the pitch and in the stands too. I'm sure if we could raise our level (which is patchy at best) we would notice a difference on the pitch. For years we have wondered why no matter what teams/managers we have had, some of the same old Albion characterstics are still there eg. nervousness. I think to find out why we have to look at the things that don't change about the club - the fans. Nervousness and anxiety in the stands is reflected by our teams on the pitch. It is no coincidence either that we play better when the crowd is more up for it. What can we do to get the crowd to step it up? --------------------------------------------- I imagine playing tippy tappy football in your own half doesn't exactly get the passions going!

I went to a couple of non Stoke West Brom games in the Prem a few years back and thought there crowd was pretty noisy, nowhere near as "lively" as Stoke though.

'We should play 4-5-1. Play football at them, see how they cope...' Did they not watch Saturday? What makes them think a team that has less quality than Arse can run circles around us?
