Just e-mailed those Footballfigure.co.uk people to see if they're working on a Rory figure. I'll let you know what they say. ;D

I know you must have heard it a million times mate... But I fucking love that Longthrow sig. And if they do start doing a figure of him... Well, that'd make my season complete. ;D

Bit behind the times there aren't you Dave? I swear they stopped making Subbuteo about ten years ago.

Subbuteo was shit compared with the magical Super Striker. I still have my set and have been looking to replace broken bits so I can play it with my lad when he is older. I painted white stripes down the red team to make them "Stoke", sadly, they always seem to be playing Leicester, Everton, Birmingham and Portsmouth. Its a sort of mini-league. of course then if Stoke had an "away" to of Blue shirts, white shorts, I could play "away games" against Sunderland, Sheffield United and Southampton!

Here's the response:
"At the moment, FT Champs seem to be concentrating on the big English and Spanish clubs and also Chelsea as of next year! I have given my views on the next releases and that should include all Premier League clubs, even if it was one player from each. Obviously Rory Delap would be a good choice for Stoke fans. Unfortunately, I think they are more focused on the quantity they could sell all over the world i.e 25,000-50,000 rather than the great players from smaller clubs. I think it is important that they realise the Premier League has a huge fan base so I will keep trying! Thanks for your comments."
Concentrating on the big English clubs... Gloryunters! They'd clean up if they pulled their finger out and did a Rory figure now.
I did suggest in my reply that a Sir Stan figure would be a big seller too.
Whydelilah - no probs, feel free to borrow it. Some lads are supposed to be working on a banner I believe, (they asked for permission), so that'll be a giggle if it appears at a match. ;D

Dave - have you looked at that Subbuteo site? Is that all the game's reduced to now? 2 versions - one based around the "big names/faces" and an "Urban" version (chavs kicking around a council estate?!). Doesn't that just sum up what's changed with football over the years? I used to get the Subbuteo catalogue from Butlers in Biddulph or sometimes one of the shops in Hanley and be amazed at the list of teams and places you could buy. Not to mention all the bits and bobs like replica FA cups and such. Don't know about anyone else, but I think every club should be able to sell a Subbuteo version of its team in their shops. Even if they just sit on a shelf in people's homes, there's a generation of fans (pre-1992?) who love that sort of thing.

Tell you what standing on those subbuteo men doesn't half hurt, nearly compares to a 3 pin plug.
