With the club being in the media spotlight following the Arsenal game & all that has gone with it. How do you think Wigan will aproach the game? They seem to be less direct these days and a side that want to play tippy tappy more, will they to play us at our own game? How do you see this one going? Will Tone be telling the lads to be carefull as the media spotlight be focused on us more. Given the recent histoy between the two clubs, will it just be blood and thunder brought on by a passionate Stoke following?

It will be a difficult game but one we can get something out of and our approach must reflect that. I think we can take 3 points but I honestly would be satisfied with a point.
I think we'll play to win and send men forward similar to Man City. If we can take some of the chances we create we'll be in with a great chance, that is what let us down at Man City.

I think they'll do a good job of playing us at our own game, very much up for the midfield battle. Worried about Zaki & Heskey up front, they also have some good players like Scharner who is not particularly in form this season. We're in better form than them, but they have home advantage. Very much an even match that could go either way, I fancy us if it's a tight game though.
Wigan 0 - 1 Stoke (Fuller)

always a difficult place to go but they are not in great from apart from a win a pompey when they seemed pretty fortunate so id say wigan 1 2 stoke (zaki 57) (sidbie 24)(fuller 78) now wudnt that be nice

I think it could be like a home game for Stoke on Saturday with our following and Wigan's poor support

It'll be tough, all way games are, all games even, in this League and they're a decent side.
Two wins at home is great, but we need to keep a lid on our expectations a little a while yet, just as we need not to get so down when we suffer defeats.

I think it will be another tough game, that Zaki looks the dogs bollox, just the type of player to give as good as he gets. I expect a physical game and one that may spring a few surprises, a hardy draw me thinks.

Ok, well I am certain we will score a minimum of 2. So, and bear with me, the footbaling genius inside me says that if we restrict them to scoring 1 or less, then the 3 points are ours. Im not usually wrong on these matters. If you doubt me, go back somewhere here and pull up my predictions for Sunderland and Arsenal. I go 2-0, Zaki and Heskey in hospital.

There good attacking (Zaki, Heskey, Valencia, Palacios), a stoke type of player apart from been white & short (Cattermole), good goalie (Kirkland) but defence is woeful!...if they said draw before match id be happy...but a win is a big possibility just need defend well & fuller playing then we have more than a chance

mumf you piss artist , I referred to this
"a club artificially inseminated with a senile chairmans millions" which is EXACTLY what Stoke is
and do keep up, the RL plays 2nd fiddle to the football, they get lower crowds at Wigan Warriors than they do at Wigan Athletic and by between 3-5000 every game

Hit a raw nerve have I Dave...?
You hate Coates...and the wife comes from Wigan.
You resort to character insults and accusations then...?
I'm not going to respond to some pathetic rubbish like this. You have the personality of a coffin.
Is this the norm from a native of Northampton....or is the Meths taking over my powers of reasonable thought.?

I think it's totally there for the taking by both teams. I'd want three points, be happy with one, wouldn't be surprised with none. The most difficult game of the season to call so far, I believe.

About Wigan....
The worst home record in the Premier League as the Latics have earned only four points from their three goals scored at the JJB Stadium, with Aston Villa humiliating them with a 4-0 thrashing last month. Like Blackburn, away from home things have been respectable, with victory at Fratton Park last weekend keeping them out of the bottom three.
The Latics are down in 17th because they struggle against the teams around them - they are yet to win against another team in the bottom half of the table and have scored only twice in those games. Conversely, their three wins against top-half sides puts them fifth in that particular table behind the top four. If only they didn't have to play the likes of Fulham...
To me that means it's going to be a walk in the park or Wigan are going to finally click at home and give us a good game.
