I really hope there's something in this one.
We could do with him at St. James's.

I'm probably going to get some more -karma for saying this - but I actually don't think Harewood is that good! Powerful on his day but inconsistent and seems to go through regular lapses in confidence. Yes, he's okay at this level and I know we do have to get to the next level first but I'd much rather have Tony's ultimate wet dream - Zamora -if we are spending that sort of money.

I certainly wouldn't grumble if we signed Harewood. Great player at this level and has proven his worth over the years. I'm not sure of the 1.8million price tag, though, as I'm sure Villa spent quite a bit on him last summer (£4-5 million, was it?) so it'd be a fair old loss for them.
Godo, I agree about Zamora but I think we'd be paying double of what the Harewood fee is reported to be in order to get him.

16 goals in the Prem in 05-06. 22 in the Championship in 04-05 26 in the Championship in 03-04. 21 in the Championship in 02-03. I'd be very surprised if it came off, but £1.8m for a guy with that recent goalscoring record seems something of a bargain in the current English climate , especially as he moved for £3.7m in August. More so with the likes of Jason Roberts being given a £4m price tag. I can't really believe that we're having a semi-serious discussion about Stoke possibly...maybe...probably not.... spending £1.8m on a player. We're clearly all stark raving bonkers ;D

we need a couple of decent midfielders first, first half against newcastle we was sitting way too far back without getting a challenge in

to be fair
you cant really blame them for sitting back to much against a side like them
push up too much against newcastle and its BANG BANG gone, the game lost with the likes of owen , viduka, duff, nzogbia etc, we did exactly the right thing
t.p got his tactics perfect throughtout the whole of the game, it was just that we didnt take any of our wonderful chances

Yeah but Tony didn't really do much different to normal, so it wasn't reeally a case of getting tactics "spot on", more "business as usual". Played it on the floor more though, which was good.

i disagree mate, if we had a couple of decent midfielders to put there foot on the ball maybe there wouldnt be so much frantic defending, which would allow our back four to push out a little

We have that type of player in Diao. Even though he is a defensively minded player he eases the pressure off the back frour and can hold it as well as break up play, allowing players to get forward.

on the day he got it spot on

first half, you have to keep it solid
go 1-0 down and your fcked!!!
second half you can go for it more, playing towards home support , can bring players on etc

Even though Griffin is a great player, and would be a great addition to the team, I still think that Wilko and Dicko played absolutey brilliant last night and seemed to cope well with the likes of Owen, Viduka and Alan Smith, all international players. Griff would be good but Wilko and Dicko can cope.

owen was half fit, smith wouldnt even get in the stoke side and vidukas another parkin but with a lot more skill

we would look just as vulnerable as when they would go on a counter attack when we push up and go at them
what do you expect, us to be invulnerable against newcastle utd, there always going to have 4 or 5 decent chances and more possesion, because they have far better players than us
tbh not many teams get away with much at arsenal!!!
i wouldnt fancy going there and attacking either, we would get torn to shreds with their pace!
