Look at Ipswich's reaction at Mark Halsey's performance in their match against Portsmouth yesterday.
My worry is that Bennett will be looking for any excuse to send one of our boys off, and I sometimes think that these Premiership referees get too pally with the top flight players and that they sometimes go out of there way to help the top flight team.
Let's hope he has a good game and tries to let the game flow.

There is no chance of that banbury. I'm certain that it'll soon turn into the Steve Bennet show. He's such a "big teamer" that I'm expecting our lads to get booked for so much as brushing past a Toon player, whilst they will be able to hack away to their hearts content.
I predict at least 1 penalty and a sending off (Creswell 2 footed challenge), he's been getting way with them for weeks but against a prem team he'll get pulled up.

Would have been nice if he had spotted the handball on Fuller's shot, but other than that he allowed us to be competitive and wasn't overprotective of the Premier League Darlings.
Let the game flow, only 2 bookings (both deserved) and hardly got mentioned on the commentary. As such thought it was one of the better refereeing performances we have seen this year.

He was pretty good but I was a bit annoyed at the number of fouls he gave against us for 50:50 balls in the air.

I thought he favoured Newc towards the end of the game tho' I 100% agree - the last 10 minutes he started giving everything Newcastle, upto that point I actually thought he had a very good game. We were hard and strong in the tackles and but he wasn't blowing up left right and centre to protect the prem team. Last 10 mins let himself down - otherwise I thought he did very well.
