Went the hospital yesterday and found out I have got to have fairly hefty laser surgery on my left eye in the next few months.
Just wondered if anyone had ever had it and what it is like. Mate reckons it is like being shot by a taser gun and to be honest I don't doubt it as i have seen documentaries on it.
I hate hospitals as well which doesn't help.

Not me personally but know a few people who have had laser correction surgery if thats the same. They've said its slightly uncomfortable and you can smell a bit of burning eyeball but not too bad at all really and fine after a very short time. Its the needle in the eye bit that would put the shits up me!!

Got to have it to remove a cyst behind my eye apparently. If they bost it enough times all the goo runs out and it may go away. It's the needle thats made me shit my pants now

I had laser surgery 3 years ago following a glaucoma attack.
I didn't have a needle in the eye just drops, there was no smell & no pain either it's the noise more than anything that startles you, a bit like a stapler gun.

My missus has had loads done to correct small broken blood vessels on the retina of each eye. She says the drops that enable the surgeon to see into your eyes are a bit uncomfortable but there is certainly no injection. After treatment your pupils will be wide open for a while which will mean normal light will seem very bright until the effect of the drops wears off so dunner drive. You may experience aching of the eyes for a day or so afterwards and your vision my be a bit blurred but this wears off. Dunner werrit you'll be orate.

Laser eye surgery is incredibly dangerous my mate had both his eyes done and his dog was ran over the weekend after.

My mum's had it too (also for glaucoma), her description is like Paula's. She said the hardest part was making sure she kept her eye still enough but the laser surgery itself was like having an amazing light show in her head, which almost sounds like she'd like some more Seriously, it's really non-invasive as surgery goes, all the very best with it.
