Just wondering if anyone can help on this.
I have an internet/telephone/tv all in one box from n9uf telecom (I live in france), which connects to a desktop via cables (LAN) to provide internet access. The trouble is, it only has one output.
Is there an easy way to set up this network to provide wifi access to my laptop too? I also have a linksys wireless-G ADSL gateway (unused). This can provide upto 4 ethernet connections, can I use one as an input from the original n9ufbox?
Thanks

I cant add anything to what you have already put, link the 2 up using the ethernet cable, then use the other ports to hard wire anything you want, if you want to set it wireless, log on to the Linksys and enter a SSID and a WPA key.

yeah, the issue is, I think the linksys is an adsl, whereas the internet is cable. Will that be an issue?

bloody cunts the lot of them. why can't one router do the job? Just seems like a money making exercise. They should have a standard, and keep to it.

It shouldn't matter as you are not using it as a ADSL router, you are using it as a HUB/Wireless Access point.
To test, you can link it like this:-
Cable modem>>>>>>>>Linksys>>>>>>>>>PC
Connect the ethernet cable normally running from the cable modem to your PC, directly into the Linksys, then plug in another cable from the Linksys into your PC.

cheers funky, will give it a go. does that mean I can run the cable from the modem into an ethernet port (1 of 4), rather than the usual line in port on my wireless router.
