does anyone know what's ACTUALLY happened? all the streets are still cordoned off and will be until dinner time apparently. also heard that there's a smashed up 4x4 parked by walkabout so that may dispell cinquecento rumours....

was told the cinquento ran over the girl coming down foundry street, then i saw him swerving all over the place on trinity street, he turned onto lower foundry street and crashed into the scaffolding! i asked the officer how she was doing, his response was "not good" that's all i know

That road by JFK is a nightmare. I used to walk up it every day and they come flying round the corner at the top not not thinking or caring that just around the corner is a crossing. Add to this the traffic coming off the side roads by Walkabout and the next one up where the car park is and it is a recipe for disaster. Saying that I thought they closed the road off to traffic at that time in the morning so must have been one of the side roads or something. Thoughts go out and hope she is OK

Fucking boy racers, obviously NOT enough speed cameras on that road, they're always racing past the Casinos like it's Monaco GP or something!

I remember them when I used to do the noon shifts on the Festival site, should make it illegal to congregate on there. Like a dispersion zone for gruops of youths.

When we came out of the Sugarmill we were baffled why nobody was about and my mate got a bollocking for trying to walk up Trinity Street.

I was at my mates' house last night and his girlfriend, who was in Hanley, text him saying that she'd be late back as she'd witnessed it and had to give a statement to the police. Unsurprisingly, she said it was a horrible thing to see.
Fingers crossed for the girl - hope she's alright.
