Defoe is crap- can't score to save his life as he's proved recently. I despair about some people's knowledge.
Should be a shed load but I say 3-0. Defoe x 2 and Graham Rix
He could still score v them if picked

Defoe is shit for England and I would have him anywhere near the national team personally. He's had enough chances and consistantly been wank for England. Crouch on the other hand has been superb whenever he pulls on an England and has scored plenty of goals.
Its got 1/2 nil written all over it this one. All the hype after the Croatia result will lead to disappointment with a 1/2 nil victory.

Just checked and Defoe has 28 caps for England with 5 goals to his name. 2 against T&T 2 against Andorra and 1 against Poland. So thats 2 in a meaningless friendly, 2 against a pub team and 1 against a middle of the road Polish outfit at the time. I'd expect better than that from him.

So many players have shone for England of late haven't they so why pick out Defoe? Lampard and Gerrard have been magnificent and are in there on merit of course. Agree re Crouch -England's best goalscorer of late and leaving Owen out is bizarre. Picking strikers who can't score goals is an interesting tactic. Surprised Kitson was left out- fits the bill exactly.
Interesting how friendlies are meaningless when you need to prove a point and Poland were crap. Who else scored v Poland that night if they were so bad- surely a handful of players?
By your logic Ian Wright was completely shit then?

Why Defoe? I have a mate that creams his pants over Defoe so I pick fault with him And on a more serious note I do think he has been dreadful for England, in fact fucking awful for England. He's always offside and misses a lot of sitters. He'll score a hat-trick now I've said all this but for England I really do think he is a bag of wank. As for Lampard and Gerrard the stats suggest that we win more when they're in the team than when one of them just plays. When played together we've won something like 15 out 20. I was amazed by that too as they are wank together but seem to get the job done.

I never said Poland were crap and the friendly was meanigless it was against T&T and it was the one that nearly got wiped off as a friendly because the rules were broken. All friendlies are meaningless imo but that one was meaningless with bells on!
As for Ian Wright I don't know! If his record for England was shit, he was shit for England, that goes without saying! Doesn't mean he's a shit footballer!
edit-wank performances + wank record=wank for England=Defoe.
