Well it seems its a must win game against Spurs.
Maybe its time to play 3 up front with Sidebe behind and Fuller and Kitson up top.
I really dont think we can dio much else ,we dont have wide men so why bother putting people thrree.
Maybe Sorenson Griffin Faye Sonko Higgy Lawrence Diao Delap
Sidebe
Fuller Kitson
I feel this would be to our strength

spot on kev with our tactics its a must for spurs game, but maybe soro griff faye sonko higgy lawrence whelan delap sidibe fuller kitson my thinking is that diao will not cope with little lennon modric and bentley he ruffles the bigger men but struggles against nippy players

Yeah that will do for me .
Not sure it will work as i think they will have way to much pace for us .
But probably the best we can come up with to hurt them.
But you know Pulis wont do it.

Spurs are not anyway near as bad as their league position suggests. They play fast flowing football with plenty of trickery and will not simply lay down. They will start winning soon and must not be viewed as relegation rivals meaning defeat should not be viewed as the end of the world. Play to strengths and no panic wholesale change of formation.

When they said yesterday that Mama was coming on I was hoping he would replace Olifinjana (not a clue on spelling) ;D Would like to see Mama feeding Fuller and Kitson.

They are playing very good football NOW. and defeat to a team playing very good football is no disgrace. Again people are using the current league table as a yardstick. Bottom, after even as many as 10 games, means nothing (unless you are a trigger happy chairman or a talk sport phone in caller.) Spurs are no more a relegation favourite than hull a champions league entrant. Play the team in front of you on the day and not their league placing. Accept defeat in the same way but i'll let you look at the table after a win ???

Can't start Whelan in my opinion, shocking in the reserves the other night and poor against Reading. Gave the ball away far too many times.

Agreed!
Come on TP - what have you got to lose?
If we carry on with the forward formation we have had for the last 7 games will will get relegated.

It's probable that we'd see Kitson smashing them in as well, but does he prefer his service to come from the outside rather than through the middle? Either way, playing him up front would improve us immensely in my opinion.

Spurs play 5 in midfield generally, with d-bent or pavlova up front on their own. The word 'flooded' springs to mind. No way would the tracking back of mama +kitson combined compensate for our lack of numbers.
I'd like to see us play that 4-3-3 formation against a 4-4-2 side, but not against 4-5-1. I also don't think TP would do it with lawrence as one of the midfield 3 - if we had 3 you'd think it'd be delap, olly and diao.

It's definitely time for two strikers plus Mama being Mama, and given that our midfield's making so little impact I really don't see where we're going to feel the loss tbh.

i'd love to see that formation played.. mama doing his job.. kitz in his proper position.. and diao tracks back brilliantly as a defensive midfeilder.. delap runs back well too.. but saddly im not TP..

I cant see how that would work at all. Granted it would give us more of an attacking threat but we would be mobbed in the middle of the park, especially as Spurs play 5 in there. but its immaterial what we think because i cant see TP playing a system anything like this

For me this just shows what a battle TP has. Not with keeping us in the prem but having to put up with people who think the teams posted above is even worthy of thinking about!
So you'd have Lawrence Dioa and Delap in midfield with Mamma just behind Kitson and Fuller?
Then we get totaly over run by a team with any kind of midfield. First thing i'd do against you is put 5 in midfield, totaly out number and over run you, you wouldn't see any of the ball. What would you be doing then? You'd end up with mamma dropping into midfield for the rest of the game to cope with having 5 midfielders against you, then you'd end up with two up front which is what we have now!
All those that say we don't play with two up front, nonsense. By two up front you mean two strikers hold hands all game do they? Name a good prem side that plays with two strikers holding hands all match. All teams now play with a striker dropping deeper as a straight two up top just gets picked up and marker out of the game. Why do you think Rooney and co drop short now. To get off that centre half that has him in his back pocket because he's standing up front and easily marked. Both Kitson and Fuller dropped short to recieve the ball from the midfield against pompey.
All this nonsense about tactics and formations is hilarious. It just shows what some of us and TP what we are up against to consider playing teams like the ones above. No one has tanked us, teams know they have been in a game against us and with a bit more luck (and better finishing and defending) we would have, and will have more points.
